how ? they killing me like 2 sec. in kessel or danthomir(corsec tier4) one time i desibled to reactor but they were still shotting me...how u can kill them?

Gunboats have the particular weakness of not being able to fire in a downward arc, combined with the fact they are very slow. Just watch out for when they like to flip over quickly on you once in a while,it can catch you unaware if your doing something foolish like sitting close to them and moving slow.

Concentrrate your fire toward the back so as to only be hitting one shield and armor facing, and target the reactor, once it can't move it's no threat to you.

Call in a bomber strike from distance to weaken the gunboat's protections and have some additional targets around for the gunboat to shoot at, then target the gunboats weapon system and blast away. Once the weapons are down the gunboat is a piece of cake

Why take the time to individualy disable 4 separate weapons when you can immobilize it by taking out one subsystem and render its guns useless.

Because teh Guns still work fine until the caps are empty. Notice how they are not a subsystem you can target?

Once this new patch is put in, all turret-equipped enemies will be harder, as their guns will shoot farther than blasters. 535-549m won't be the sweet spot anymore.

Maybe I had a bugged mission, but I took out the reactor on a gunboat and the guns kept firing. I was like, "W T F?" because how does a ship fire its weapons without any energy? Anyway, since that experience, I target weapons first always.

Yeah, I was about to say something similar. A Shipwright could retire on the sum of a pilot coming in buying 10 cases of Mk2 Space Bombs a week.

Maybe you aren't supposed to Solo them. If you fly without a wingman, you are a fool. Any REAL fighter pilot will want a wingman when in a combat situation. I expect that with a wingman or two, you can take on the gunboat, but you need to work together and dance in and out of the targets range.


There may be some that can solo it, but it is nothing to be impressed over. 99% of those that solo, used some sort of "trick" exploiting a poor AI. Put a player or two in the gunboat and you would need a few wingman to beat it.

Until the patch is added, you can hang out at around 440m astern of the gunboat and plug away at it until you hit paydirt. Take out the engines and go dead and finish it off. Once you take out the engines and the reactor, I've noticed the chassis damages much faster.

Of course, this isn't gonna work come 11.2. I just hope they aren't stupid enough to make all turrets ranges 750m with the AI NEVER MISSING still.

Talk about sour grapes. It's not an exploit to stay underneath it so it can't hit you, it's common sense. I kill them this way with and without a wingman. Why subject yourself to the firing arc of their guns when you are agile enough to stay out of it.
