Does this mean.. that if i see a pilot in a A-wing or a Y-wing.. i can't attack them becouse they didn't declaire themselves overt before they left the planet? and if they attack a Npc Tie Fighter i can't Attack them for doing that..? How is this suppost to continue the Galactic civil war... maybe i read Th's post wrong or somthing?

This is the part I have a problem with. Ok, people can fly around in any ship and can conceivably be unknown faction, but attacking NPC Faction ships and having nothing to be able to do about it is wrong.

apparently PvP players are the minority of players. PvE guys are the majority... like it or not, SOE is not going to alienate the majority of their players. sorry man

And the GCW is the minority of the gameplay right now. 90% or more of all content is of a PvE nature.

it makes no sense to me,im in an x wing,i c a tie fighter, hes flying alond,i want to attack him but i cant, how can we ambush,a very widly used tactic,u cant ambush unless they say YES,i know i sound like a racist but y should u be able to act out ur dream of flying like luke skywalker in an x wing but u just want the easy part, shor npc might be hard but, thats just it,they r npc, this is a mmorpg, not a single player game that has some multyplayer content

sigh the more i look at it the more the game seems to have no faction at all. Imperials arn't imperials rebels arn't rebels.. they should just join the factions into one and make the Vong the Npc's and make the story around them. it would give the game a bit of a perpose.. As it stands right now there is no war.

best thing to do then if you want to attack a PC is to wait till you see one thats overt. that seems ok to me since alot of PvPer's will be doing that anyway. i understand why not being able to help out NPC's seems like a problem, but trust me youll run into alot of overt players, possibly more than you can handle. i dont think itll be so bad fella's just let the PvEer's play like they want to and go after the other overt players

Technically both sides are a minority. The majority of players will actually do both. Assuming, A) The PvE is fun, and B) The PvP is fun.

Sadly in SWG, the PvP is horrible. The GCW isa mess, and even those that really enjoy PvP don't bother with it. The Devs need to fix the GCW and actually make it fun, and mean something. There is no reason why PvP and PvE playstyles can not co-exist. When a PvE players has someone attack them out of nowhere, it hurts their playstyle. And when an Overt Faction player sees a PvE player destroy his NPC friends, it hurts his playstyle.

Hence, TEFs! The solution to everything. Players can't unconsentually attack others. And the GCW will not turn to a mindless MOB killing fest.

Neutrals can still:

1)Fly in space without worry of attack

2)Fly in an Xwing/Ywing what have you without worry of attack

3)Engage in combat with non-Empire targets like Corsec, the Hutts, the RSF, Corsair Pirates, etc, etc.

PLUS!

Neutrals get to choose when and where they will be open to PvP. I've been a covert in SWG since release. I've only been killed by a TEF once. It is insanely easy to avoid PvP, even when your vulnerable to it.

In Jump to Lightspeed, you'll have 1) Long range radar, showing everything in the near vincinity 2)Hyperdrives which will allow a quick escape to a place far far away.

Well, maybe they'll put the Master Pilot content in the PvP sectors.
