Thread: Saving credit chip???

No big advantage in it. You can stack a cred chip up to 1M credits i think. You can have a max of 999999999 in ur bank, if you were to exeed this amount then cred chip are intresting to save cash in a cabinet or so...
But there´s no real sense behind it. IMHO it could be removed from game... directly getting ur space creds to ur wallet or straight into bank.
Ya I agree I kinda wondered why you would not get it straight to your bank account.

You wonder about that, but the fact that you are looting creds from a ship that blew up doesn't seem odd?
Money on Kills should be rewards..bounties posted with factions. Like the Empire pays 200-1000 creds per confirmed kill as an example.

No, i do not "wonder"
But you are absolutely right, why would an exploding ship drop credits (that would sure burn in the explosion)?
IMHO you should get a cash reward only for the MISSION not for random killing. The cash that comes out of the looted (and RE`d!) equipment is overkill as it is anyway in space
Then of course, there's the 1337 p0w3r gamerz who run around saying crap like: "My cr3dit chiP h4s m0r3 credz than y0urz!!!11!!" .... but they're idiots and we all know it....

Put 2 5000 credit chips on the bazzar and made it an auction, got 8k each when it ended.
You know that's not a bad business idea, some people may prefer to have their money in object form (for placing in their house or whatever) so they would be willing to pay a little extra to convert their bank money into chips.

The pratice of giving money per confirmed kill in the sky is an old tradition that goes a long way back. In some cases, the mission was worth X and the planes you shot down added to that. The AVG (American Volunteer Group) in China leading up to American official involvement in WW2 is an example of this. For those that don't know, the AVG was also called the Flying Tigers. They were latered disbanded when America got into the war officially and moved the 23rd Fighter Group into Burma. Many of the pilots eventually found themselves flying for the 23rd and it was given the name that the AVG was refered to and it still to this day is called the Flying Tigers. Now, I don't recall if they got paid per mission, but they did get paid for each plane they shot down.
Even in official militaries, the pratice existed..although on a more unofficial level. Sometimes by commanding officers as a bonus...other times paid out of a squadron "pool"...everyone put money into the pool on payday and those that got kills would get money from the pool. Beating a certain record..like most kills in one day by a pilot in teh squadron history would result in a bigger amount from the unofficial pool as well.
Now what didnt happen is a pilot of the AVG shooting down a Japanese fighter, then landing and looting the pilots wallet and grabbing his landing gear to take back to RE with his own.
I think the pilot would have been upset and likely resisted handing over the wallet at least.
Its just fun to have that much money in a little item in your pocket
Also one might be able to sell ^said^ 1337 credit chip for alot more than 1337k
I recommend it for people who complain about the prices of higher-tier ships. Some people think they can't possibly acquire those kind of funds in time, saving the credit chip serves to show them just how much money they make along the way.
It's like giving ther kids a piggy bank - yes, they could always get the money out but some people just need a way to see how much they are saving up.
Kinda funny
