Since the removal of damage penalties for space based PvP was implemented I have not noticed any significant increase in pilot's PvPing or wanting to PvP. Deep Space offers a few rewards. Access to level 10 loot, a PvP zone and a Star Destroyer to defend or take down. These offerings are very enjoyable, but rather limiting in the way of game play. We need diversity along with a compelling reason to PvP.

- Kill counts - Jedi have them, Ace's need them too! Name of defeated pilot and how many times defeated...
- Loot rights - We need some kind of trophy. A part that we can use or a trophy that we can show off.
- Space needs to be part of the GCW. - The super top secret never spoke about or revealed plan for the GCW needs to take space PvP into account. Ground and space do not feel intertwined and need to be.
- Squad based battles - We need PvP battles designed for squadron VS squadron .Capture the flag, king of the hill, last man standing. Etc... We need in space, what Battlefields where designed to do for the ground, but they have to work!

If nothing else,a kill count would really help! Having someone see that you are an Ace is one thing, having them see that you area deadly PvPing Ace is entirely diffrent.

PvP can be very exciting, but the reward for defeating your opponent is too short lived. The thrill of victory is the only reward.
We deserve and need better reasons and rewards .

It needs what the ground game needs (WORKING ONES)- the thing that was the focal point of all meaningful PvP in the game... faction bases. I'm sure it'll come, but they've got enough on their plate right now.

Atrophy for pvp'ers wouldn't go down to well with pve crowd.

Pvp can be fun , but not much satisfaction killing somebody who never seen you coming with 1 shot.(25 % pvp damage + 30% weapon overload 3 = funny maths)

Vampri - The trophy would be a part from the ship that you destoryed or something like that. You do know that Jedi MUST PvP to at the higher ranks right? Infact the whole Jedi system is based on PvP at the higher end.

People need to have options, and giving people that PvP a reason to PvP does not effect someone who is a strick PvE player. Why would you want to take away from someone else's playstyle's rewards because you can not get the reward with your playstyle? That is a very limiting design and does not give people many options other then to find a game that does reward them for there playstyle.

Oh yeah?? Well, all the trophies for the PvE'ers don't go down well with the PvP'ers!!

See how much sense you make? None.

But then again PvE is the game and PvP is just the bit added on. Not even Lineage is totally PvP based. ALL 100%, that means every last MMO is based on PvE first, PvP is an option an addition.

It makes perfect sense PvE is the base of the game and your being silly to suggest it isnt.

In all the Mmo's i've played PvP is not just an addon , it is in fact themax difficulty level that you aspire to after you have defeated the hardest npc's many times and need a greater challenge that will keep you interested in the game.

what SWG lacks [as everyone whoose been playinglongterm knows] is a system on the ground and in space that will bind together the "basic gameplay" that has been createdwith something that will motive & keep players entertained long term.

Something that makes you want to pvp and take risks as well as a potential reward as mentioned above which could be done very easily.

After the combat rebalance ibelieve SOE [from what they say] WILLcreate a GCW that finally

makes players feel they are part of a starwars universeandstoryline on an epic scale.

I imagine it will be a system based around the factions with bases or goals/missions that will see one faction dominate the others & control planets and space.

I want to see big battles with AT AT's & stormtroopers & vader attacking key rebel bases that will have an effect on all rebel players & vice-versa.

I want to see a trade routeand merchant space system with smugglers ,pirates ,space junk collecters & asteroid mining. [bascialy a working space enviroment not soley foccussed on combat]

I want to be involved in a continous storyline that will affect my character and keep changing based on my actions.

I want to see capital ships patrolling the various planetary sectors when controlled by a given faction.

I would hope players can actually helpcrew the capital ships and determin the outcome of massive space battles.

i want to hear the STARWARS main theme a lot more!!! [on theground and in space !!!!!!]

This is your total conjecture, not one MMO requires purely PvPing for advancement, ALL MMOs are PvE by basic, that is what an NPC is a PvE element. You OPINION on difficulty is just that opinion, I find no challenge in PvP this is just the lame excuse to force more PvP into a game then is needed. PvP is an extension to a base game only no MMO is reliant on PvP.

Well I already felt that, PvP or not wont change that for a vast majority, and I have no more faith in SOE with this product they dont know how to handle Star Wars and give in to powergamers and PvP elitist and it will ruin not save the game.

Would be nice, but SOE doesnt know how to run SWG so they will screw it up every chance they can, they will give in to the vocal minority have more pointless forced PvP and it will become an elitist game, most will leave and SOE will shut it down, remember this it will happen.

Good thing Slarus writes in dark red. Otherwise I might accidentally see some of his words.

Actually, there are MMO's that requires PvPing for advancement. Planetside comes to mind.

Unless you are talking about MMORPGs, then your statement might be true.

Capture the flag, king of the hill, last man standing. etc... are only goodfor non-MMO multiplayer games. For MMO games, we need quest based PvP.

BTW, I'd love to see a Star Wars themedMMO FPPS in Planetside style, but that is sure going to kill SW: Battlefront, maybe even SWG.

Great, in that case, following the same logic, as a 'PvPer', I request; no - I demand to be given the same chance to loot Grand Dune Kimogila scales from any dead Player Character as a 'PvEer' gets when he kills a GDK.

A bit silly, isn't it?
