Okay, so I finally get JtL as part of the upgrade..and I have flown more than a bit..(tier 3 atm).

My question is this, why continue? Every mission is just go fly around more killing more ships..I feel like I have shot down every starfighter in the rebel alliance twice over already.

None of the "points of interest" seem to actually DO anything. Most aren't even that visually exciting. So what is the point of JtL?

The point to flying is, well to enjoy flying.

Oh, and the cash. Cash is good in space.

I'm 3322 and I'm having a blast.

The point is to fly around shooting stuff.... and like others have said, make lots of cash too.

Edit:
Oh, there's space mining too... but it's boring, you don't want to to that (Mumbles umder breath: Hehheh, I'll make all the credits from thos asteroids, and keep them all to myself!) (and yes, I'm mostly kidding about the boring part)

The reason for flying is because it is a hell of a lot more fun and challenging then the ground game.

Piloting is largely a wrenchmonkey sort of game, you build it to fit you. While the PvE realm has certain challenges (side missions, space missions as part of RotW quests, etc), after a certain point that bores some people. Sounds like you havent even made it to master before it has begun to bore you, and that's kinda too bad, but some people just don't have the mind set. Others love loot collecting, and making the ideal parts and gear for thier ships. Other people enjoy helping out, and having fun with friends. Lots of people enjoy space PvP, though it is a radically different realm than ground PvP.

There are very potent economic reasons to fly too. Cheap money and lots of it (once you're set up and equipped nothing is as quick and profitable as a Duty mission), as well as easy faction.

Frankly, the purpose is the same as it is in ANY sci-fi flight sim... to zoom around space and blow things up. Personally, it's satisfied me. /shrug

So what you are saying is that there is nothing more to it? How sad. I love good flight sims, I played X-Wing, TIE Fighter and Xwing vs Tie fighter for years and had a a blast...this isn't a tenth as good. It is just really lacking as a flight sim.

As for the cash, not only could I already make tons on the ground..I was a multi-millionaire before I bought my first ship...not much incentive there.

Seeing over 10 Corvettes at once near a Star Destroyer with 100 B-Wing Escorts really gets ur adrenaline pumping

Also, doing a fly-by on the Rebel Space station with over 20 guns is cool. I should only think the Star destoryer(100 guns) would be much cooler. Seeing 50 guns firing at a lone X-wing Tier 5 and seeing most of them misisng is prtety funny too

Seeing 100 guns fire would be cool, if you could actually see it in anything other that stopmotion stuttering from all the latency it generates. Something comes in range of the ISD, everything fires, regardless of whether it stands a chance of hitting. All imperial ISDs have had their tractor beams replaced by latency generators. So much more effective vs snub fighters.

"To boldly go where no one has gone before"...? Oh, no wait, wrong movie

But seriously: To have fun, loads of cash and to help other become master pilots. Most fun in space is Multi-Person Vessels though. Doing the ISD in DS with YT or Nova is just great ^_^

There wasn't anything more to those flight sims then doing the same type of missions over and over too. A better plot for most of them but that goes for nearly all single player games. Just sounds like jtls isn't for you.
