Thread: Should (SP) Master Ships have more mass?

I'm curious how everyone feels about this, I just attained Master Imperial Pilot last night and am a little dissapointed in the Single Player Master ships (for me, the Oppressor and Firespray).


I have been saving up all this powerful space loot to put into my ships when I would reach Master Pilot. However, I max out my shipsmasshalf way down the componentlist. Man, I was bummed. Now the Decimator, YT and the Reb MP ships have a 5mil mass limit, so why shouldnt the SP master ships get around a 1mil mass limit. I think that would be fair enough.As it stands now, I still have yet to see someone come close to maxing out the mass on a MP ship.


But that is my opinion. Whats yours? :-)

Yup, not enough mass for my Firespray unless you search for low mass parts.

Too many parts and not enough mass for SP ships.
Too much mass and not enoug parts for MP ships.

MP Ships should have dual ships, dual capacitors, dual armor for front and back and dual weapons.

I think the current 200k is fine right now.


With the proper mix of RE'd parts, componets balance planning, give and takes, and special equipment, you can make a very deadly fighter ship.


What i did is find and RE a very special lvl 4 cap with 1300/44 recharge. A booster RE of lvl 3 for 1500/48 recharge (who needs a booster, when you're built to destroy, not run away...). The Legacy engine, lvl 6 inferno, and i had plenty of mass for experimental lvl 9-10 weapons (3 of them)!


It's almost another game to fine the right balance!

Well the KSE FS and the other Master lvl ships have a good enough mass. My KSE FS has 212k mass.

I see the Pros and Cons to the amount of Mass availible. I really like the idea of multiple capacitors, engines, weapons and such on the MP ships, heck, they have the Mass for them. If the only thing was that the capacitors would have to match or something, not matching serial numbers, but matching names like MARK IV and so on.


However, for the Master SP ships, having only a 20k or so Mass increase isnt much. True, with the right balance and organization of parts, you can make a deadly ship, but I feel that Master Ships should be up well and above the rest, we earned it. Just imagine what kind of ship you could create with 1mil mass on it. Now that would be worth the effort.


Maybe the problem lies in that the good parts are in short supply due to having to rely on looted (luck of the draw) parts. I will talk with my local shipwrights tonight to see what my options are. Although from what I understading so far, is that level 8 parts that you can loot tend to be superior to level 9 and 10 parts that players can make. If this is true, then this is where changes need to happen.

Well I noticed level 10 parts are not worth anything to the chassis dealer. I think that is too encourage people to sell them to shipwrights so they can Reverse Engineer them. But it would take 10 of a kind of part so collecting them all is the problem. But yeah all 10 should produce an extremely uber component. I would think so anyway. An yes the MP ships definately need some exclusive high mass parts or dual engines or something. They die way too fast right now with a full crew. A singleone man fighter should'nt be able to kill a fully crewed MP ship unless they fall asleep.

My firespray is decked out with 30k mass left to spare.

Got a pre-nerf droid interface, Nice looted capacitor-engine-and shield and un REed weapons (level 10 dont quite have enuf)

tbh no

masses are fine and you can spend a lot time tweaking your ship to the max within these limits.

that way you can adjust your config to your personal flying style and dont have space composite type configurations.

Well, I do wish the mass was upped a bit. I can't remember the mass on my B-Wing, but it's not really enough. I have two level 10 (or 9I can't remember) weapons on it and two level 4 weapons. Level 10 capacitor and engine, sheilds, and level two armor. Then I have some boosters and that's about it. I'd really like to fit a missile launcher on it, so it can live up to it's "bomber" name. But I just don't have enough mass.
Of course, none of those parts are RE'd... so maybe I should try that.

Well, I sure wouldn't complain if they gave me more mass but honestly I don't feel the burning need.


I have 3 ships currently. ( I redeeded my oppresor but I'll explain why...)


Ok, so my Firespray with 209k mass...

2 blasters one has 4700 max damage, the other 3780 max damage.

2 Spacebomb 2 launchers

All other components are re'ed except for my armour and engine. I have this baby with about 150 mass left over.


My Decimator, needless to say, mass is not an issue. Fully decked out almost all lvl 10 or re'ed components. 3 spacebomb 2 launchers and 2 guns at 4700max damage or more each


My Oppressor (currently retired)

Very similair to the Firespray. 2 blasters at 3780 max dam each, 2 concussion and 1 proton 3 launcher. Everything else re'ed.. again, like 50 mass left over... but... I retired that one to build the ultimate PvP ship for an imperial.

I will happily post the stats on this badboy when I get online later tonight but needless to say it's an re'ed monster!

Using the 79 spd 63 ypr reward engine (for now till I gather enough lvl 6 engines to re a sick one...)

It has shields, armour, everything a pilot could need/want. The thing that makes it so cool though is that it easily out performs any AWing I have found. Using reactor OL 3, Cap OL 3, Weapon OL4, Engine OL4. Believe it or not this little ship is amazing.


So, should they increase Master Level ship mass? Well, again, I wouldn't complain. Funny thing though would be someone cruising in their 300 mass bwing getting blown out of the sky by my 50k mass Intercepter! LOL!


(EDIT: Oh yeah, btw just because it's cert 10 doesn't mean it's better. Most of my best gear is low cert components carefully re'ed to stats that would make cert 10's blush!)

I think the mass is fine. My only beef with all the master ships is with the oppressor. 2 gun mounts and 3 missle racks?! How about 3 gun mounts and 2 missle racks instead?
