Thread: Rebell Dantooine Tier 3.2 mission Evercamp?

Hello all,

I have some problems with finishing my 2nd mission of Brother Ezekiel (Vortex Squadron).

First you have to support a wing of spynet fighter on an attack of Blacklight Pirates. No problems.

Second you have to dock with a damaged fighter (spynet captain), repair it and escort it through several waves of Blacklight fighters. No problems.

Third you have to patrol some waypoints and get ambushed by 4 Tier3 Blacklight pirates - also no problem - easy to beat the crap out of the guys.

Now it comes:

Fourth you have to fly to a possible waypoint to inspect the remaining Blacklight pirates at this spot to find the position of their leader. As far as I was told I have to inspect the fighters, disable the one with the data, dock and voíla - done.

But it is quite harder than it sounds. First you have to inspect them under heavy fire (one is a tier5 who can rip your ship apart very fast). I did this several times with no avail - none of the two tier3 fighters (sometimes assassin or bomber) and the tier5 wingcommander had the data. You are lucky to do this twice or three times - to no avail. It looks like the data is a random spawn (remembers me quite on Everquest).

The other problem is: on every mission I have flown so far the mission objectives are special spawns which cant be hit by other players. Not at this waypoint. The 2 tier3 and the tier5 are wildspawns, everybody can fire on them. As far as I have seen only a disabled fighter with the data for a player on it is mission only target and couldnt be hit by others anymore.

So you have to compete with either other players... looking to fulfill the mission as you do or experience hunters (a tier5 fighter is a nice exp for pilots). I did this several times - grouped and ungrouped. Stood there for over an hour with no avail. So itbecomes pretty frustrating at last.

Devs, is this mission working as planned? Or is something happening there I don't know? I beg you to make this objektive as all other mission objektives a spawn for the one who has the mission. So it remembers me really on all those long days and night sitting in Everquest on a spawnpoint and hope the thing you want will be drop - only to experience to get killstealed by another player.

Thanks for considering my concerns.

And for all fellow pilots: feel free to join and explain your problems with this mission.

P.S.: I fly a X-wing with decent stuff on it - have no problems to kill every enemy on this mission. Only the tier 5 are ripping me slow apart when I am solo on this mission (after the 4th or 5th it becomes critical for me). So please don't blame my piloting skills. Maybe I am a bit unlucky, too.

Thanks!

Am I the only one with problems in this mission?

I've done some fixes to this mission that should be patched soon. For the life of me I can't find this Tier 5 pirate you are talking about though. Does anyone know what he's called? Thank you in advance,

EDIT: Is it a Velocity Mercenary Group Leader?

Hi SWG-Swede

It is a Blacklight Wingcommander (he spawns together with the two other Blacklight ships - Tier3)

Thank you very much!

I just did this mission last night, but didn't have any trouble with a Tier 5 spawn nearby. To complete this mission, you need to disable, inspect, and dock one specific ship called "A Blacklight Pirate" - it is a tier 3 ship that spawns near the possible location waypoint.

Raro Starrunner <LF> (Corbantis) Master Doctor, Master Rifleman, Aliance Ace Pilot
Raaro Starrunner <LF> (Corbantis) Light Jedi Knight

Kilje Rodal <CKA> (Eclipse) Master Swordsman, Freelancer Pilot 2/2/2/2

Duct tape is like the force: it has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together.

Thanks for the tip BobaStarrunner.

But everytime I flew this mission (over 10times) I had a spawn of 3 Blacklight pirates nearby - one tier 5 wingcommander and 2 tier 3 wingmen (either an assassin, fighter or bomber).

And I have never seen a ship called Blacklight Pirate, tried the target key very often and circled through all targets. But the 3 ships I mentioned were the only ones in vincinity.

I did this mission yesterday afternoon and it was FULL of Tier 5 "Blacklight Wing Commander"s. The regular "Blacklight Pirate"s and "Blacklight Assassin"s were there, but OMG it took over 20 minutes just for the correct guy with the info inside of him to spawn. What gives? That's just simply too long and frustrating. We didn't know if the mission was broken or what.

"spawn of three Blacklight pirates" - no, the one you want IS called Blacklight Pirate. The Assassins, fighter or bombers are NOT the ship you need. Those are cannon fodder. Kill them and eventually a pirate spawns.

I can also confirm that there's typically 1 to 3 Wing Commanders that are tier 5 in the area. The seem to spawn right there too, as they are killed.

Oh, one more comment. I think it took me 20-30 minutes, at least, until the pirate spawned. To me this wasn't a major issue. Had some fun with the tier 5's too, but there were other people trying to do the mission there too. Alone I couldn't have survived 1-3 tier 5 and 2-3 tier 3s for very long.

There was another thread about this mission yesterday and Swede did fix the problem (thanks again)... the Blacklight Pirate, the one that holds the information you must collect, does now spawn properly. I was able to complete this mission, though I agree it is not easy. Yes, that T5 is called "A Blacklight Wing Commander." He really isn't that tough but with his other buddies around it can be quite difficult.

Some suggestions:

- If other players are camping that area for xp, simply send them a tell and ask that they do not attack the Blacklight Pirate because he is part of your mission. In a way, these other players actually help you by keeping the other spawn off your back while you can concentrate on the Pirate.

- You need good weapons and shields at this point... level 7. If you picked 3/2/2/2 before 2/3/2/2 then you made a mistake. Trust me, I tried the next mission after this one and you are going to need that upgraded equipment.

- Use the "T" key to target the Pirate before you get within firing range of the spawn. Ignore the rest of the spawn and disable the Pirate as fast as you can. If your ship gets pounded too much, at the last possible moment, hit your transponder jamming special. This will buy you a few moments to complete your work with the Pirate... and hopefully, the rest of the spawn will target the grinders in the meantime

Thanks to all for your help and thanks to Swede for looking into this matter.

Sorry that I missed the thread yesterday completely.

Good luck and may the force be with you - always

Does the Pirate spawn when you arrive at the waypoint or does it still spawn after a random amount of time ?

I was able to complete the mission. It took 3 hours of searching spawns, but I did it. My group spent all that time searching ships. I found it, but then a groupmate killed it. I was so mad, not at him, but at the game for having a mission target be a random spawn.

But then 5 minutes later we found another one and I got it

Oh yea, swede, thanks for the feedback to the community. It really does make a difference.
