Right now, Deep Space resembles the first hour or so of a frat party. There are a whole bunch of people streaming in and out because "nobody's there." There is a point at which the player population of the sector will provide enough of a busy feel, but it seems like this will never happen under the current system.
Pilot gets Master. (FINALLY!)
Pilot goes to Deep Space (FINALLY!)
Pilot finds nobody to fight (huh?)
Pilot goes and plays some other game.
Repeat with 5000 more pilots.
Please open up a sectorthat anyone can goopen PVP in. You devs made a brilliant move setting it up so you don't have to be that far in the XP boxes to compete in PVP, but where is anybody supposed to find an opponent?
Please save Space PVP. I've been waiting since the original XWing for space PVP on this kind of scale. Make it happen.

agreed, a luscious 5 *'s to you my friend
we need more pvp areas.
We already have different level npc(standard) areas of space, low, medium high etc...
How about areas of space, aimed at different levels of player for pvp'ing ?
It isnt a problem for me to go to either deepspace or kessel at my level, but surely low level pvp areas, for low level pilots would be a good thing for pvp in general, and would provide a great trainign ground for novice pilots for when they reach the dizzy heights of master pilot.
Perhaps these could be themed areas, with soem nice poi's in them, such as a rebel/imp or neutral blockade to fight around etc?
plus, anyone else want badges for visiting the poi's in space. ... i know i do.

Whats the point of playing a MMORPG when you cannot fight anyone or even find a group of people who want to play? Kessel was right when it was PVP, it was just the fact that you had to do your Master Mission that turned off others. You should be able to declare your Faction in space and PvP anywhere right from the start of launch if needed.

ummm you can declare overt in space and fly around overt anywhere.
if you declare in space it does not follow you to the ground.
just find your nearest faction space station, go there and /comm it

Let em just make a better pvp system first.. those one shot and shield and armor is gone shots are just lol... and with decay pvp remains unenjoyable.. at least for me. Currently it requires just a lucky shot to win against someone.... not really challenging imo.

sure..lemme just fly from dantooine to lok....then fly another <insert # of k here> to the rebel station to declare...fly back to dantooine... go pvp...die within 2-3 minutes...go spend another 15 to go overt
you're a smart one. its like going pvping on the ground..only there u wait 30 minutes ofr complete buffs...if you're lucky...

The pvp'er found out that every time you repair, you 'stuff' decays a little. Its really no fun if you have a penelty for die'n. Especally if you paid a high price for that 18k reactor

with this statement you mean... lets all whinge, so the devs change it so you get no decay once you die, and put myself and my fellowship shipwrights out of business ?
if thats the case, and dont get me wrong, you may have been joking, but with this kind of mentality you will soon have no shipwrights left, to worry about having any ships for pvp at all. Remember its cost most of us millions to gain master shipwright, and imo a little decay is healthy for a boost to enhance the boyancy of the SW market.
i pvp, and tbh the decay isnt the problem, its the fact that your dying too much!, get better at it. the pvp system is a mess, but its far from terrible, and once they readdress certain issues, mainly the high damage given out whichshortens the time it takes for most ppl to get shot up and to die inpvp, it should get better, and lets be honest, how long does it really take you to jump to a system offereing full repairs and back again?? nothing more than few minutes at most.
I'm not flaming, and i understand the pain in the ass nature of pvp at the moment, but look on the brightside, at least the space pvp is equal for everyone mostly, unlike the failed groundside variant.
lets hope the devs address both and give a balance that keeps us all happy, no matter wether we are pilots or SW's.
as always these are my opinions and mine alone, no offence meant or taken.
neph out.

I think overt/not overt was a bad choice for space. Having to go declare is a pain for most people, and makes little sense realy. There should be a simpler system in place that effects all pilots not just factions.
I'd like for all pilots to be able to toggle themselves as either pvp enabled or pvp disabled at anytime anywhere. This would not transfer to the ground, but it also would not shut off when you land. The only way to shut it off would be to turn it off then wait anhour. This way it discourages people abusing it to toggle it on kill a few people then toggle it off and run. It would make it so that its just basicaly toggling your ship to function by the old kessel rules at will. This way everyone is included not just factions.
And please take away pvp decay, its just serving no purpose but to discourage pvp, noone is pvping now as it is so the shipwrights are getting zero decay from pvp anyhow.

Yes I was being sarcastic, this is the new rant form pvp'er's.Yes I do both, PVEand PVP. I personally think the 'penelty' for loseing a fight is good, kinda make's ya try to win that much harder.

Ummmm....... Whats 10% off of a 3 or so K Firespray Schem that costs around 10mil?
That would mean once you die you lose 300 leaving it to 2700 cond. So About 70 deaths and your ship is toast sounds alot but 70 with 5secs to a death would be 350 total of 5.83 minutes of straight combat. Which would be more like 10-20mins if your a complete idiot that dies all the time but i could say your ship with PVP decay would be toast in about an hr. Translate you gotta be a rich fool to PVP or fly a ugly but cheat ship

Yea I agree they need to add another 25% damage reduction, to make the fights last a little longer, but I am firm on the penelty, that's the price you pay for loseing. Moral : Don't lose.
