I have a 947 max energy capacitor on my dunelizard. Firing both tier 1 weapons drains it pretty quickly, but from reading the shipwright faq, its looking as tho nothing below lv9 components have a higher cap energy range.
Is that the case? If so, Im guessing I need to shop for weapons that have much less drain? That may be a problem as I've not seen any and Im still using lv2/3 stuff.

Ah, good question. If this might shed light on that, it fully recharges from 0-947 in the time it takes me to travel 1000m going 600spd.
That may or may not help, but Im at work and dont have the stats in front of me. If it doesnt, Ill post back after I get home. Thanks.

crafted capacitors are absolutley god-awful, use a looted one. for level 2/3 look for one with around the same energy yours has with about 36-40 recharge. also use weapon overload 3, but dont cry when they fix it

That shipwright faq is just for crafted capacitors, which are completely atrocious. Level 6 looted caps, for instance, can hit 1200 energy with some frequency, and I've RE'd one that broke 1400.
Newwb's got some really solid advice in terms of recharge rates and using a level 2, however. Generally a level 2 with a nice recharge rate is enough to handle most anything.

Ah ok, well it turned out that my recharge is 27.3, so I suppose for lv2 stuff its pretty damn solid. That's horrid that the crafters have such low stat limits, what were the devs thinking?
Anyways, thanks for the advice. And I've heard about weapons overload being borked, may as well use itwhile I can

I wonder if the devs will EVER fix the crafted capacitors.

So do I. Whoever thought that a max of 36 on a crafted capacitor was ok must have been tired as hell when coding it.

At first, I just thought it would be like buffs when they were nerfed last year. It took the doctors a while to get the right ingredients/experimentation but then buffs were great again. I figured it would just take the SWs time to figure out their craft and then we'd have great components and looted items from space would be equivalent to the CDEF pistol you loot all the time.
Sadly, SOE decided to slap the new crafting profession in the face instead. Rediculous.

Hello,
Is there somewhere that lists average stats for each lvl of ship equipment, particulary capacitors? I bought a crafted lvl 4 capacitor last night with what I think are good stats. These stats are guesstimates as I am at work.
Mass: 3360
Capacitor Energy: 1008.7
Capacitor Energy: 1008.7
Recharge Rate: 36.0
Is this average or is this part of the new crafted capacitors? A little help in the right direction would be helpful.
Thanks in advance,

no such thing as a crafted lvl4 capacitor. all crafted (except miscellany missle launchers) are odd level. and that can't be a crafted *Mark IV* capacitor, as the mass is too low. you sure it's not an lvl4 RE job?

It is probably an REd level 4. I'm pretty sure REd components have a "crafted by: alirc" in the description, so it looks like it was crafted. I guess it was, but it was crafted by dropping 4 of them in a component analysis tool.
Does it happen to say "Reverse Engineering Level: 4" in the examine window? If so, it is just loot.
As for stats, that is a good energy, but not a great recharge. I try to get >1k energy and >40 recharge when REing a level 4. If that is REd, then the SW was just burning through components without thinking about what would make a great capacitor.
Nevertheless, it is still pretty good. Much better than crafted can achieve for that mass.

I am sorry, but with the new capacitor stats, this is a so-so capacitor.
My Mark II Weapons Capacitor + Quick Recharge Battery has the following stats:
Mass: 2489,6
Energy Maintenance: 1118,6
Capacitor Energy: 651,9
Recharge Rate: 42,6
