Devs this is seriously not fair that people under 18 cant sign up for Beta Testing, we want to try too like others.I hope u change that thing and everyone can try :-).

im under 18 and even i got to say i hate people complaing. i dont care there is a reason for it so no offense but you guys just got to stop complaing

Actually, it is fair. this is contractural law.. It is against the law for a company to enter a contract with a minor. A contract (foir instance do not share this beta tested game with anyone) cannot be legally bound with a minor.. Nor can they enforce in this case a parent giving their ok because then the contract is opened between parent and SOE, not the minor. Sorry if you do not like this but, this is the standard of the United States.

It is fair. It's the law. And I'm sure that chatspeakin' thirteen year-olds wouldn't be much of a help to Beta testing, anyways.

What's the point? The reason for Beta testing is for the improvement of the game and the like, not a demo or anything of the sort.

I know, but you get to test it with the servers loaded if you have everyone beta testing. THis would show you what it would be like in individual communities.

I can't see how it is fun.. we're supposed to be looking for bugs. OMG! Publish 9 was aheadache because you had too many ppl whining about how things were broken! things are supposed to be broken in Beta! (I know things are supposed to be fixed but..) the point I'm making is we're supposed to find out what is broken and pass the word over.. not play the game for free 2-3 monthsw before everyone else.

please look at my post above yours. I think that the feeling of a community would help you test a little better because it actually feels like the game itself.

Ok. its not necessarily a "law" that SOE HAS to use. They just choose to use it for this closed beta testing. Not such a big deal. Although I think it woulda been an excellent and very profitable/smart move if the devs would have made people reserve the game and paid in full for it to get into this beta. they would prolly get a record for most pre-ordered game. Maybe not, but still, they'd really boost sales. expecially before it came out. Well, i'm not over 18 but i did reserve it so I can wait. Just cause a few other players get to have the "feel of the game" first doesnt make that big a difference. Not like they're keeping whats given or 'earned' to them in beta

I agree a beta is not for fun it is for testing i hope there is a char wipe of the beta just for those who got in not to report bugs just to play i hope i get into the beta because i like to help people and if i can help such a great game become better then count me in and if you read its a Beta TEST not beta play time ok beta = bugs bugs = no fun so if people get in just to play there will be bugs when it comes out and then every one will complain that there is bugs when they are paying for it well thank those who get into the beta just to play

would someone please explain this law to me, I know that we needed to sign something, but i dont remember ANYWHERE in my SWG registration (Which was the first day it went live) that it required a signature. I am very upset that it says I need to be over 18 when my credit card clearly shows my age.
