Everybody wants to show off thier ship on the ground. I think they should make a new building an Architect would create that would take up 1-4 lots (Depending on type). The building would resemble a shuttleport and could be placed like a normal building. A one lot port can hold any non-POB ship while the 4 lot one could hold anything. This would greatly benefit the architects and cities. Plus it would be cool as hell to land behind your house and have you pimped out X-wing or Decimator sitting there waiting on you. As an added bonus you could manage the ship through the terminal and see how the new parts will change the look of your ship. Hell you could probably not even have a building just a reserved lot that you could land on. Not quite as good as landing anywhere you want to but still pretty damn cool.
You could also add administrators to you port and allow other people to land there given it's empty. When you log off your ship disapears so that its free to accept new ships.
Just something to think about and maybe its been brought up before but I really think that there has to be someway of doing this.

So, would the ship actually be sitting inside the buliding, and you could go up to it and walk around your ship (and if it was a POB ship, you could walk around it and walk up the ramp and head inside it)? If so, I'm all for this idea.
I like the sound, too, of having it as a "one-ship-only" storage, so you couldn't store all your ships there, just one at a time. Which makes more sense.
And perhaps these structures would be limited to, say, two per character, so you couldn't place six of them and store all your ships in them.

Just picture a shuttleport, only instead of a shuttle its your ship. Kinda like a reserved parking spot for you. Obviously it would be an easy way to get home but would not do you much good if your trying to get to your buddies house on another planet, that is unless his port is currently emtpy and he gives you authorization to land there.
I think it would rock.

Or maybe even a possibility to somehow land on a rooftop of a certain type of buildings.

Is this the correct place for this idea? I mean do the devs even read this forum?

This sounds good but it needs to have more restrictions. The devs need to make sure people still access the main cities like Theed, Mos Eisley, Coronet, Tyrena etc.
1) Make it so that only the pilot who owns the station can land there
2) Make it a requirement to be at least a Tier 4 Pilot orMaster Pilot of your given piloting profession to place one
3) Make it cost maintenance if your at Tier 4 but when you make Master make it cost prestige points or something
These are just preliminary ideas but I am sure it could work but again like I said above they need to make sure they don't implement things that make people independant of the player cities.
I can't disagree with these statements. Good call, we could even make it a Master Pilot ability to just useso we don't swarm the landscape with even more useless buildings. Say something like, "you don't have the necessary skill to navigate a landing in such a small building"

I had this idea running through my head alot too. I dont really feel like I own the ships I do because I cant see them on the ground. It feels like something detatced from me. It's odd. But this would be amazing. And it would also benefit the Architect because they finally get a new building.

Would love to see it......reminds me of a post for Hangar Bays..
Both are sooo cool if it would get developed! Landing your ship and walking around it would be a dream come true for us spacers
