there is far less complaining about your proffesion, than any other i have come across so far. I am a novice combat medic, novice creature handler, and novice pistoleer. maybe ill get rid of my combat medic and go ranger? I was thinking maybe squad leader, but they are saying that you guys do everything they can and more. well good luck to you guys. i know their is something wrong with every proffesion. and they have a right to gripe. but thanks for not doing it to much. nice to read some constructive posts. you guys are all about helping each other out. keep up the good work!

You're welcome!

I'm sure most, if not all, of us hope that other incomplete professions like Squad Leader get as much loving as we've just been promised. Having some point in the future where people are saying, "boy, ranger or squad leader, so hard to decide, they both seem so good," would be a dilemma I'd happily welcome.

Thanks for the compliment, I whole heartedly agree that the current bunch of Rangers are great people.

And it's not like we never had anything to complain about, we just did it constructively.

We were never as "broken" as some other proffessions, but we were never much different than fancy scouts.

This was admitted to by the SOE staff themselves calling us underdeveloped from the start, or something along those lines...

I hope it all pays off in the future for us Rangers, I'm just glad I will get to use ALL the new goodies when they are released..hehe

I'll see you all on Dathomir with my camo kits on day one of the changes!

I was about to start a thread on this very topic.

I read, for the most part, the Ranger, Scout and Pistoleer forums as that's the template I'm going with - Master Scout/Master Ranger/Master Pistoleer (don't PvP much. tried rifles... pistols just work better for the way I play :smile.

The Ranger board is a delight to read (as compared to some of the more the hyperbole strewn and histrionicboards). Good group of folks here. It's like I've said before - IMO the folks who are drawn to a class/profession like this are pretty darn nice folks.

Kudos to Mineras for his excellent work and to the posters here for keeping this board mature, informativeand fun to read.

Whatever you do, you probably don't want to be a BH.

Otherwise, I too find the ranger profession to be very enjoyable. This is probably because it is definately more complete and rewarding than BHing.

I agree with you...this is a great board to be apart of. We dont get as many posts as the other professions..but the ones that show up here are very good ones.

yes our class is nice and the perks they are giving us are even better. I became bounty hunter a few weeks ago and said this is not for meI like the wild and figure I put so much time and engery into the scout tree might as well use it. Now I am a ranger. Any other rangers on tarquinas give me a /tell blatel and we can hunt together.

Rangers do everything Squad Leaders do? Hardly. The Squad Leader is the only profession that can DIRECTLY control other PCs. Man, I would like that ability sometimes, especially the formation commands. There are things in there that would allow dropping some of these hi level mobs a lot easier...

Imagine this: Krat Dragon (sp?) with a Squad leader. Set line formation 2 m apart. Mindshot (1 & 2) a few HS then 2 handed headshot (it would be chewing on someone by then), all in unison with about 5 Rifleman/2-handed melee. I may be one if I do another char.

Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.

So far, carbineers are the only marksman tree based profession who hasn't thrown a childish temper tantrum trying to get bounty hunters nerfed.

Your profession proves itself to have the most intergrety of the three main ranged professions due to this, and trust me, it is very much appreciated.

I can't speak for the whole of the BH community, but I can say that this has earned you respect from me.

Just wanted to say thanks 8)
