Thread: making money
This is not a flame on the changes. I was paying the upkeep prior to it.
I have been turning out CDEF weapons and Power ups just as fast as I can. I only list the ones with excelent results say 20-49 dam 4.0 delay or better. From the start I think I have sold maybe 5.
Can someone post some business plans and whatnot. I saw a post about someone who was buying power ups from his store.
Where are they reselling to.
I have to run missions just so I can pay for one Harvestor and Windmill.
I am open to any sugestions maybe I am missing the obvious here.
I agree with you about the money for upkeep problem, however, here's a few tips.
First of all, if that's the best CDEF you can make you're doing something wrong. I consistently crank out 29-59 damage weapons. If you're doing less than that, you're not using the right minerals (high conductivity copper) to make them, or you're not experimenting in front of a crafting station. Try this approach.
Secondly, those item's aren't going to sell now that weaponcrafters have reached a decent level in game.
Third, try making Bone Armor whichs sells well, or getting your Domestic Arts line up and selling clothing.
These are the only things I can seem to make money off of.
I use Copper cant remember right now the name.
I run Experimentation on Damage in this order 3 first then 3 to finish. even when I get Amazing results the best I have turned out is max damage 53.
The Clothing line may be a good Idea. Thanks
I am by no means a seasoned beta tester so take my advice with a grain of salt but here is what's worked for me. I have tried a few different methods of getting my artisan to level and getting money and when I found one that worked I went through and tested the first few stages on a few different servers to see if it was trully a valid work. Here is what I do.
First of all aside from Artisan I take novice marksman and novice scout. Marksman for the specail attacks and the scout to skin hides and for explore 1. Remember it is easy to untrain in this game so skill points won't be lost but these are good to have at the begining.
For money for first few levels of artisan is difficult to make by crafting. Until you can make bone armor its worthless and even then that takes hides and bones which are inflated prices in bazar's. There are usually some destroy missions that even the most novice marksman can solo, the trick is finding them. For me I started on Talus, since moved to Rori. On talus the key is paralopes. You can take 2 at a time in the same direction and easily solo them if you use some smarts. 2 missions nets you 2k plus some change. It also gets you a ton of hides and bone. On rori I do night spiders. I do a few missions a night to support all my harvestors and get them paid up for a few days. This usually takes about 20 mins tops, and some days I don't even have to do this if my harvestor's are all paid up. Then I can sit back and work on artisan xp with the stacks of resources they provide. I hate the old build and grind method but in reality the market is flooded with power ups and cdef's all which are the same plus a few points damage on the exceptional ones.
The only thing worth selling through Engineering 4 is Bone armor and deeds. Trick is find the median price form high, I usually sell it for lower because my costs are lower. I don't have to pay for bone and hide a
At Engineering IV and Domestic Arts IV, I've been steadily making credits off of clothing, experimented weapon powerups, and bone armor. Sure, I don't charge an arm and a leg for them, but I still sell enough to keep me in credits.
The other way that I've been able to make money is by taking Novice Marksman. It helps a lot when trying to get out and kill things. Anyway, I've been able to solo destroy missions with little to no problems at all. Do a couple of these on my way to survey, pick up some extra cash.
Oh, and you might sell more weapons if you experiment on the effectiveness, first. I've found that a pistol with a low action cost works much better than one with high damage (high action cost). I used to end up incapacitated a lot because I ran out of action points in one fight...you do the math.

Sorry for the double...no triple post. I hate this forum software (did I mention I hate it).
Anyway Only thing I think that sells is bone armor..Cdef and power ups are not going to go anymore I think. I diversify my character a bit and am going to go pistoleer for secondary profession ( I have played with stats on some online character builders). Destroy missions are a good way to get harvestor maintenance experience, but untill you make your profession, there isn't a whole lot you can craft to set you apart.
Just my opinion.
If they let you sell your pets on your own vendor couldn't you make them so expsive as to have them not sell but allow you to store another 35 pets as a loophole for storing pets limits? Or even if they do sell, then you've made massive money. I think you can just lock your door and that solves that problem though.
Also I think since BE's can't tame or use their own creatures without CH, we shouldn't be dipping into their market unless it is selling on the street.
