I know the devs have said they won't likely be useable at launch...but, i think they're missing out on a great chance for GCW/player enjoyment here. A few simple stations that it is possible to dock with. Once docked you could enter the station interior where it acts as a type of battleground, you would be TEF'd all the time you're inside. Have a control room or such at the centre of the station behind a door that needs to be sliced for entry. Some kind of minor reward, maybe whoever has control gets their NPC's spawned. The end reward dosen't have to be anything amazing, the fact that ship loads of commando's and such can board the place and fight it out would likely be enough. If a true goal is needed then how about the controlling side has NPC conttroled ships spawning in that sector, capitol ships with fighter escorts so that you would effectively 'control' the sector. I can't see that it would be all that difficult to implement but would certainly generate more fun and player cooperation. All the transports full of raiding troops would need fighter escorts etc...

I see spacestations being playable at some point. Instead of adding in a new planet, they could add in a "city" so to speak. THey have to save something for future expansions and patches I guess...

Even if they arent cities, it'd be nice to have a gathering point out in the middle of nowhere.

There was some concept art that I had seen for these. Are these going to be functional (ie docking and have repair stations and other luxury centers that we have on the ground? Places like Cantinas and Medical Centers...
Why wouldn't space combat not grant people battle fatigue?
And of course a broken ship (cause you died in space and then cloned) why should that grant the same death wound penalty?

If you read the JTL quickstart guide on the front page, it states that ships can be repaired at space stations, so I'm willing to guess that these are functional
As to your second question, why not? I can't really think of a good reason why you couldn't unless flight times are extraordinarily long.
As to your last question, why shouldn't it? I understand that we are talking about space here, but many players find the current death penalties harsh enough. What would you consider harsher death penalties? I know I find the concept of repairing my fighter (what I bet is gonna cost 50 thousand credits or more) penalty enough...

I logged into the Test Center Ep3 and I havent created a character in such a long time that I forgot how beautiful the space station is.
Id love to see that space station allow people to board it and use it for buying tools, maybe landing and working on their ships... maybe even purchasing items like ordnance, weapons or even parts. If a space station is opened we wouldnt have to load up all the time to space and maybe even be used as a point to pick people up without landing!
That space station that is the tutorial can be used for so many other things as well as the space station tutorial. Imagine loggin in and seeing real live players in your tutorial interacting. Ships flying around landing, groups ready for travel and actually people shopping. Like an airport in space....
There is so many possabilities its endless...
The space station is beautiful man.... If you ever create a character again just walk around the thing and look out its windows and imagine seeing ships docking, people actually using that thing for what it was meant for......
Exciting isnt it?

That is the best idea i have heard in a long time. i couldnt agree more. i would love to dock and handle the space game from SPACE. I remember halping a friend who was in the station using tells while i was on tat. it would of been nice to of gone to him and walked him thru it. and it would be nice if there were people to do that when i had started. i would like to see the devs post on this one. it sounds like it would be awsome.

Everyone I know would realy like to see this.
It would be a cool feature.
For as far as I know there are thoughts of putting it in the game, they even can make them instance dungeons
But realy would like to see that we can walk around in the space stations, talk to npc and get missions there.
Maybe everyone send in a thought to the devs (submit feedback) maybe it works

Nice idea. This needs to be set up something like an NPC city only in space. Have a wing dedicated to shopping for parts, a wing dedicated to food, drink, and entertainment, another wing for shuttle bording, and last a launch deck for us to board and land our ships in. Adding this kind of content would be great!! Hope they look into it!

also make it a part of the gcw where it would be capurable by overt players combining both combat in space and combat in the space station.
now imagine that. your there toshop forsome ship parts walking around when it hits the vulnerability timer. all the sudden you hear massive ammounts of balster fire outside as one side attacks the station (which would be heavily armed of course). after doing whatever is nesseary outside, the fight moves inside, with the attackers having to fight back overt players and npcs.
