Thread: Pilot xp/Prestige points converted to Jedi xp?
It's been made pretty clear that JTL and Jedi don't mix, and Pilot doesn't cost any skill points to master. Would be the 'free' way to grind Jedi, and people are already complaining that there's too many lightsabre-wielding maniacs running around as it is.
I know people are complaining about number of jedi. But in this point in the movies and books it never states how many new jedi might have shown up. Everyone needs to stop whinning both jedi about how they are not as good and people that say their are to many. The way I see it, the ones who have made it to the padawan and above point should feel honored and lucky to make it that far. It's a hard grind and difficult to make jedi, and then once made you are hunted. What do they expect, easy street? It's something we should all be happy is available to us, and as far as grinding the pilot aspect it would put more people into JTL and to top it off piloting has a lot to do with the reflex aspect of the jedi stuff. Hence pod racing, piloting, things of that nature that jedi senses have everything to do with. Now as I said it was a suggestion I am not complaining about it though. Although I have a load of pilot prestige that is useless other then going to deep space with but it's not a big deal to me. I just think it would be good if pilot xp could be traded for just the reflex branch of force sensative aspects.

Yep, a lot of people feel the same way.
But, because pilot is essentially free and because JTL was always designed to have nothing to do with the Jedi/FS system, it's never going to happen. My/our personal opinion on the issue is irrelevant, because that's the position that the dev team has stuck to.
I wouldn't count out any changes to Jedi just because the Devs have said they won't do it.
I still remember the early days when they said things like: "We will keep the Jedi population small" and "Jedi permadeath isa necessary game mechanic". Boy did the Devs change their minds about those ideas fast when people finally started unlocking Jedi characters, and hated the rules. ![]()

Is their a way to speak to the devs about this? I mean it would be one branch thats it. It makes no sense to say that piloting has nothing to do with jedi. I mean look at the movies and the pod races, and the jedi fighters.
It's not about what makes sense from a history/movie/canon point of view. JTL the *game* was designed to be separate from the Jedi *game*. A divergence of systems, if you will.
But ill give a couple reasons as to why not. Accept them or not, your choice, but i dont see the devs changing their stance anytime soon.
1.) Pilot takes no Skill points. Best quote on this ever... "Jedi and their wannabes can have the FS conversion when Pilot skills take actual skill points to earn". Asking for Conversion is like asking for something, for nothing.
2.) Piloting has absoltely nothing to do with ANY ground combat profession. Space and Ground are seperate entities, and operate on entirely different rulesets.
3.) Any conversion rate would make the jedi grind entirely too easy. Piloting Xp is ridiculouly easy to obtain in large quanities in a short amount of time. Espeically with a master pilot bonus. With a max master pilot bonus, a mob that is normally worth 3,000 XP, is now worth 12,000 xp.
4.) Shady motives. The only reason why Jedi wannabe's keep lobbying for this is because of above mentioned number 3. Everyone knows Space is fun, and the XP is easy. They want jedi, and they don't want to work for it. Piloting should not become the new "grenade grind".
