Come on it is supposed to be an upgrade from the y-wing not a flying coffin. yeah so it has tons of mass so what if you cant turn. just means it will take them a few extra shots to get thru the armor. "woopty freakin doo"

at least make it turn as well as the y-wings do jeez

I've only ever found it good against corvettes and SDs (can't finish off the SD because when attacking the bridge it takes to many hits) its really needs a fighter escort to be any good or small craft to blow it up.

The B-wing is a support bomber. Its not ment to just fly around and kill everything in sight. You need support ships to actually do anything worth while. But I assure you, the B-wing is a force, not to be taken lightly. What it lacks in speed; it makes up in power.

yeah which is sad since i can take my y-wing longprobe out and destroy tier 5 tie squadrons all day with it and this is supposed to be an upgrade.

Yeah, B-Wings should handle better. I remember flying B-wings in XWA wasn't like that at all lol.

Certain ships were designed for group support roles. You don't take a B-52 to shoot down a Messerschmidt. Each fighter has its function.

I have a reversed engineered level 10 engine in my B wing which has 100 speed and YPR in the early 80s.

I can turn fast enough to keepon the tail of tier 5 ties in kessel.

Its still hard to control but im getting used to it.

Just save those level 10 engines people

B-Wing should be somewhere between X-Wing and Y-Wing in handeling but cloer to the X-Wing. The B-Wing is meant to be just a little slower and a little less manouverable than the X-Wing but is meant to make up for this in Shields/Armour/Firepower. However it is still meant to be a nice Fighter and better than a Y-Wing in all departments!

Really ships need a Armour/Shield Modifier as well as an Engine Modifier.

i agree with the original poster..the ship turns like a drunken bantha no matter WHAT engine you put in it. I mean come on its a MASTER SHIP. I understand you shouldb't be able to be GOD with with but it should still be GOOD. YEah it can pack a punch, but it also fires a HUGE spread, so only a few of the 5(6) shots hit. I mean i took my B-wing out to the ISD in deep space, took out everything but couldn't even HIT the bridge, so i switched to my Y-wing longprobe and went back...still had trouble hitting it but finally destroyed it for NO reward...

Rid your mind of the incorrect concept that our ships are solo ships, and you'll suddenly realize it's function within the squadron.

Within the Star Wars galaxy and in many other games, these ships are simply not designed to do battle in solo. They are designed to assist and complement each other to create one viable battling mechanism as a whole.

When I was in my YT along with my support squadron, we completely owned the "Star Ravager" corvette. We were a force to be reckoned with.

Had I tried the YT alone, I would have been shredded. That's the way it should be.

The B wing is, more or less fine.

The problem is theres VERY FEW places to use it for it's intended purpose..

Exactly. Players need to take the initiative and form raids, or wars in the stars. C'mon, the devs provided theplaying field, now let's get it going!!

From starwars.com:

The Alliance drew many needed supplies by raiding Imperial convoys with their venerated X-wing and Y-wing starfighters. In response to this piracy, the Empire countered with heavily armed starships -- escort frigates -- protecting their shipments. The Alliance countered with the B-wing starfighter.

Developed by the insectoid Verpine of the Roche asteroid field, under the supervision of Admiral Ackbar, the B-wing starfighter is a bizarre-looking craft. Like other Verpine vessels, the B-wing has a complex gyroscopic control system that keeps a pilot along a single orientation during maneuvers. Though this stabilizes the ship as a weapons platform, the gyroscope is an engineering and maintenance nightmare.

The B-wing carries an extremely powerful array of weapons, including a heavy ion cannon, proton torpedoes, auto-blasters and a trio of laser cannons. Alternate configurations feature three laser cannons, three ion cannons, and twin torpedo launchers. Since the vessel is designed to engage capital ships, it has phenomonal firepower, but lacks speed and maneuverability.

I too wish the B-Wing was more manuverable, but it looks like the implementation in JTL is consistent with established Star Wars cannon. It is meant as part of a strike force, not as a dog fighter.
