For one of the new species i would have to say i would hope droids. They would be highly costomizable because their are so many types of droids with proper arms and legs. Also some people think droids cant do anything by themselves but their are lots of droids with their own mind. You could get buffed by droid engineers. It would bring a new sensation to SWG. SOE please tell me some times soon droids will be playable. Also they would be good in space.
Sullastians and droids please!!!

If droidswould even be considered (which I doubt), Ithink itd be a better idea to get it kind of like how you get your jedi character (easier of course) but instead you open a "droid characterslot" where you can choose to make asecond character thats a droid. Or maybe receive a droid thats your original character's pet thatyou can play as (sounds like a good idea to me, actually now that I think of it, sounds really fun). There were MUCH more beings that were solo than droids that were solo, so it shouldnt be able to be chosen at the start of the game.

The more I think of it, the better it sounds 
. Itd be a good start on answering the biggest complaint from players: "make the game more star warsy". Right now, I rarely see droids.... either they are just some pet or....well, thats it. If we saw more droids, Imsure itd add more of a "star warsy" touch to the game. Im betting that the new species will be Sullustian and Aqualish, but itd be grand if droids were playable. For armor, you could replace your own parts withstronger ones.... like you said, DE buffs.... I dont think droids need their own special weapons.... at first I didnt think that droids would work out, but now that I actually think about it, with the right motivation they could be a perfectly acceptable new race.

Lol give them computer terminal slicing abilities and vunerbilities to re-programming

Inability to recieve medic healing. Slower regens. Natural/species specific armor. Personal maintenance. Bonus mods for alot of professions.

. Some droid species really wouldn't work, like R2s, R3s, Probots, ect. Droids like IG, protocols, LEs, surgicals and the like would work, though. It would be neat to have playable droids. IG-88 was a self-run droid that was a bounty hunter and did as he pleased. 4-Lom was an android. It could work. But droids shouldn't be a super-uber class. They should have some restrictions. Maybe they're really slow, or don't manuver too well. Or something like that.

I like the idea someone had about having to unlock a droid slot, like you unlock FSCS. Droids would have no need for clothing, food or spices, so they wouldn't have to buy those things unlike all the other species.
Still, they would be neat...

Id be open to this as an MDE as long as i can design you and get paid for it. Otherwise- nope.

Well of course the MDE would design the character, otherwise it wouldnt be possible to be a droid. Droids arent born, they are built.

Yeah I remember submitting this idea awhile back in a couple of other threads.
Either they should do it that your current character's mind is stored onto a droid brain and from there they can work with that.
I wanna be a Super Battle Droid! heh

lol i dunno about that, like osapa said droids as jedi? thats worse than a wookie jedi but besides that the idea sounds kinda cool
also i would like to see Duros as the other species
