For you aces out there, I learned a lesson last night on what not to do with MP ships.
I recently got my Decimator up and running. Had a night of fun 2 days ago then last night we decided to take it out for another round of multiplayer action.
Well, all was going good until we found a corvette in Deepspace. Just for fun we decided to see how long we'd last against that thing solo (the answer is 5 seconds). After getting blown up, we appear at the space station, the plasma alarms are going off, and the ship is crippled. I do a full repair and get everything back to full...
But the plasma alarms are still going off! One of my turret gunners had a repair kit so I had him and the other guy get out of their turrets to stop the plasma leak. They promptly get incapped, so I get up to see what's going on and get incapped too. After a bit, one person died, so I had the survivor hop back into the turret for safety while I land the ship.
Later, I came back with repair kits and a master doc trailing me keeping my health up and putting out the plasma fires that keep popping up on my char. We ran all over the ship and couldn't find the source of the leak... everything was in perfect condition.
I even tried scuttling the ship (self destruct with escape hatch) to see if I could reset the thing, but it didn't work. Also tried redeeding it, but it wouldn't let me - claimed there's stuff in the ship (there isn't).
Eventually, I put a CSR ticket in and got a response back. They know about the problem. There's no way to fix the plasma leaks. There's no way to redeed the ship. Sit tight, it'll be fixed some day.
So for all you people out there playing with MP ships. If you're destroyed or if there is a plasma leak in the ship for any reason, make sure to use repair kits to repair the leak before getting the components repaired at a space station.
If you don't, you'll end up with a perpetually burning ship like mine that eats up a lot and can't be used for multiplayer activities since it'll kill everyone who boards it.

Ack! That's horrible.
On the OTHER hand, you could always invite folks who aren't quite your BEST friends for a joyride....hehehe.

I never decorated my ship so there should be nothing in the loot box... or do things just "appear" there from time to time?

The loot box collects all the components you loot from enemies. I'm pretty sure it collects the money as well.

i had this once,a friend of mine who wanted to,evidently, commit suicide, flew us over to a star destroyer, ofcourse soon as the other turretman shot it we died,we were scuttled back to dantooine station where we repaired all the stuff by ahnd and ehading to naboo to fully repair, plasma alarms still going after all that,so i land on naboo figure that will fix it...theed station evidently had a palsma leak because when i was within a 1kM range of the spaceport i coudls till hear the alarm,a quick relog didnt fix it but after logging off for the night and comign back in the morning it stopped, but these alarms need to be fixed, soon

I've had the same problem. Always get the fires put out before using a space station to repair or you'll get bugs. Sometimes it's something really annoying like the alarm staying on permanently, or a plasma animation showing when there's no leak, or more seriously continuous burning on a conduit that can't be fixed (which continues to damage the appropriate subcomponent).
If you make this mistake I've found that 2 things help.
Solution 1) Head to Kessel and get beaten up so that stuff really should be burning again, manually fix it with kits on board, escape and repair the chassis, launchers and whatever else at a station. Not a great idea but if you live and you don't mind the possible chassis decay (because you have millions of credts in the bank, no furniture on board, and nothing better to spend your money on) then it does usually work.
Solution 2) Give up and wait until the servers reset the next day. It's usually alright again then.
With these bugs and the horrendous effect chassis decay has on MP ships, I really think the devs andgame designers need to give them a bit of attention. They're an awesome idea and fantastic fun when they're working.
