If u can't handle the high levels or don't have the pc to handle it, don't bother. its obvious.
and i think its a shame trying to shoot down jtl right out of the starting gate bud.
No, it's not obvious at all.
As someone who has mastered the rebel pilot profession in beta, I think this idea that PVP must be required for it is insane.I bet that thevast majority of SWG players don't actually want to PVP, especially not when they are trying to progress in their skills. Currently in beta, I refuse to fire upon someone in Kessel (where the master missions take place) just because by doing so, I MIGHT completely ruin their missions.
This concept hurts both the PVPers and PVEers, what it does is that it gives something legit for griefers to do (Which they will do, since PVP in JTL is as pointless as in the ground game, if not more so).
So yeah, /sign.

Bid deal, so you have do to a little PVP, its not gunna kill ya to do it. (not in RL anyway.)
also your not forced to PVP, you can always just not master it. you choose to master it.

It's not "a little" PVP. Both master missions takes many hours to complete, while the PVP you are subjected to in beta might be "a little" it will most certainly not be that on the live servers.
You can't really choose not to master it either, unless you want to be stuck with a pointless expansion. The master skill box is supposed to open up other content for you to do by spending "prestige points", which you can't get unless you master one of the pilot professions. (Now, it's true that there is currently just one thing to spend prestige points on, but the topic is not about lack of content in JTL, it's about forced PVP.)

PVP is pointless? well when u look at it that way since there is no "end" to the game seeing as how its an MMO it could be considered pointless right? so why PVP? why play the game at all? for fun...
Edit: which reminds me... if u need to PVP to master doesn't that give a point to PVPing?

Pointless in the sence that there is not much reward vs risk. There isn't even anything to fight about.
No,the fact that you have to subject yourself to PVPgives no point toit at all. For insance, the first of the two rebel master missions requires you to kill 30(!) TIE fighters in Kessel. However, these TIEs hardly ever spawn, and when they do they often fly togheter with Gunboats who almost can one-shot ships. Now, if you get killed or leave the Kessel system, your mission is failed. If you get attacked by an imperial in a TIE and manage to kill him/her, that is not even added to your TIE kills.
Since the actual missions does not require you to PVP, but requires you to be open to PVP, it's griefing central. I can only see people mastering pilot professions on the live servers using three methods:
1) Do it before everyone else.
2) Do it at odd hours, when there's not as many people around
3) Have a good sized guild bodyguard you.
No point in arguing about it... PvP should always be voluntary, not forced upon.
