Thread: YT-1300 Still not soloable?

This was a big issue in Beta,and the last I read it had not been addressed. The YT-1300 has no forward firing hard points. Which means you better have one or two close friends out there because you can't fly it solo and have any firepower. You must have players in the gun turrets. Does anyone know if they changed this yet? There were forum suggestions of locking the guns forward but I never saw any reply from the Dev's on that.

Wouldn't it be fun to by those super AI turrets and put them in?

And if you read the books, the turret guns can be slaved to the cockpit, and fired from there, with less accuracy though.

When Han shot that TIE next to vader in the trench Han was in the turret and chewie was flying. How do i know you ask, Look at Hans head he is wearing the headset you wear for communication while in the turret. its a multiplayer ship for a reason. Be like not having any gunners in a B-17 i think flying it is supposed to take enough out of you that lining up a crosshair while managing engines in that beast is just too much to ask.
Dont Fly it if you dont have somone to man the guns. Its that easy, its been that way since beta and everyone in beta knew it didnt have forward firing guns. But yet people still chose privateer for what in the hopes the Devs would change it? Cmon not to sound insulting but its a multiplayer ship. Maybe i could see buying droids and have an auto defense system. But that is even a stretch.

Im afraid your the one that doesnt know the movies, If you look at han who shot that TIE he is wearing the Turret communication headset and sitting in the turret chair. Chewie was flying the Falcon when Han shot the TIE. Try analyzing the movie a little more before saying somone doesnt know.

In "A New Hope" when Han Solo was Fying Luke and the droids to Alderon, Chewwie Fired a front facing gun at the tie that followed them, but the range was kind of weak. The real firepower was when Han and Luke manned the turrets. The yt-1300 should have a front facing gun, but the ship needs to be so non-maneuverabal that you can't really use it effectively. The turrets are the only real attack for big freighters like the falcoln.

Zactly. There is not one movie reference that shows the YT-1300 in battle with only one person in it.
I sincerely hope they leave it as is. You wanna battle solo? Keep a fighter in your datapad, or redeed one.
