Thread: The Stealth Loot Nerf

Looking for loot I racked up 4.5 million xp before I did my master mission and another 34 million (that's right 34 million) prestige xp points. That's over 38 million total xp gained in the quest of good loot, hunting exclusivly teir 3-5 ships. Trust me this amounts to lot's of loot.


While I can't identify the point in game time things changed, I can say theamount of loot that drops seems to be about the same; however the average stats on the loot that drops have received a huge nerf. It seems 99.999% of everything that drops is total crap now, right up to level 10 stuff.


I know some idiots will weigh in and comment on words that I never said, like I want everything that drops to be uber, NOT TRUE.


It's just that too often when the dev's make adjustments they go to extremes. They hardly ever adjust things a little at a time until the get it right.


I have my ships outfitted with very good equipment. As a shipwright I was going up to get good loot to RE for guildies and having fun in the process, it's so rare for something good to drop now it feels like Jedi and the rest ground game now...Boring Grinding Work.

Have not experienced this. Still looting fairly good stuff.



Bored of the Grinding. Taking a break for an unspecified period of time.

if you looting high levels and geting crap remeber it takes the best stats off each component so if you get your stuff re'd you can somthing uber from a pile of crap.

I cant say i agree with your statement either...


I still get great loot, and sometimes it's loot i am looking for. Which begs the question: if you get some excellent boosters, and you were looking for reactors, did you get bad loot? No. Sometimes i get lvl 7 loot instead of lvl 10, but sometimes they also are better than the lvl 10 counterparts...


But, in MY opinion, no nerf is in place.

The stat reduction I'm refering too seems to be across the board, engines, capacitors, guns, reactors ect.


Good loot still drops however it is very rare.


I don't know how long you guys started JTL but I've been played it two months in Beta first and became a master ShipWright and master Pilot very fast.


I started getting huge quanties of high level loot very early in live and I suspect your reference of what is good compared mine is not the same. Also I have almost 40 million xp as a result of getting loot it would be helpful to know if you have close to this experience too?


If for example you only have 1/4 of that xp I can't expect you to notice the pattern change as much as I have seen.

i dont have that much experiance but also been playing since jtl beta and i dont see a problem with the loot apart from them droid interfaces at level 1 with 14 speed that stopped dropping glad i kept some lol. only loot change i have noticed is i aint been up for a while just started imp pilot on my alt and i'm maily geting level 4-6 comps yet i originaly kitted out my rebel ship on my main char with level 2 and 3 loot so if anything the level of loot has been increased.

I have 50 million experiance and 3 master pilots. Ive not noticed a huge nerf, Ive actually looted some very nice things lately. Im not going to say that you are wrong, just that I have not really noticed what you are stating. Human perception is incredibly flawed.

I started playing JtL in Phase 2 Beta, and picked it up on Launch day.


With my main, I have been constantly up in space, almost daily ever since. Granted, I haven't pushed past 4,4,4,4, mainly cuz I don't really feel like it right now...but the only "Nerf" I have noticed is the old reward engine that was 92.2 on speed which is now down to what? 78.something or other?


I've noticed a shift in loot, for the better IMO....But nothing stealth about it. SOE let us know what was changing

Marz your satement seems to have a contridiction, you haven't noticed what I'm statng but have noticed a huge nerf. What nerf are you refering too then or what am I saying that you haven't seen?


I understand what someone else said about human perception so I'm just trying to get a handle on what others with a lot of xp think.


I do still get some very nice things, what I'm talking about is they are much more rare now and the general stuff that drops has average lower stats then it used too. That's what I'm seeing anyway.

I wasn't in Beta, but I have been playing JtL since it launched, made Ace quickly and have been flying ever since.

Ahh Marzuk was refering to my statement about devs making changes in the extreme?


So Marzuk agrees that loot has been nerfed but doesn't believe the change has been extreame, If that is what he he meant I ubderstand the post now.


I first interpeted it as he's noticed a loot drop nerfand doesn't agree we me that the loot stats have been nerfed, I missed reading the word huge in his post the first time, my mistake.
