Thread: what would happen to us if the game is cancled? devs plz respond

like it says, ive always been wondering this?, the game isnt all that great, i do enjoy to play it from time to time, and it being starwars and the only star wars mmo out there(sadly) i just wanted to know would we be able to keep playing? id be really pissed off if i spend 2 or more years of my life playing this game and i cant ever use it anymore.

If SOE ends service for SWG then you won't even be playing it ever again. That's the sad truth of MMO's.

Well.. I myself have taken several 1 to 2 month vacations from the game due to overload in work and school, and wow.. I actually survived... 
If they ever do cancel SWG.. We always have porn and T.V.!!

they arent loosing any money with SWG, it dosent even have to be that good... as long as they make a profit the game will keep running.

Yeah,
It would be bad if they cancle it, but hey its just a game.....
and like the other dude said there not losing any money, and I must say hey ever thought of SWG-2
if they do release that in the future I hope we can transfer are chars, or maybe it will be a huge expansion upgrading the game.....Only one problem, dont see how it would be upgraded much more except for bugs but there will always be those...

Why? You don't lose the memories of your game experiences, you take them with you. All MMO's are shut down eventually

ultima online has less subscribers than SWG, is still 2D, well they have a horrible, 3D client that nobody uses. They have more bugs and broken crap than any game I have ever seen, and they are still running after 7 years, and releasing another expansion this month.

there would be much rejoycing...and battlefield 2 and half life 2 will fly off the shelves doing these kick butt back flips and stuff..jtl will be training metal gear solid 3 and they will kill eachother doing so ...pc gaming leads to mmorpg's..mmorpg's lead to forums..forums lead to flaming..flaming leads to the dark side of a corner with your thumb in your mouth...teach you not..for you know everything about typing 3 work acronyms wts lol afk!!!oneone!!!one

Well said, I quit playing UO after 6 years. I just got tired of the fantasy genre of MMO's. SWG fits me like a glove. I have been a fan of star wars since the late 70's when the original movie premiered.
This game has alot of years left in it.

yep it will vanish on shutdownunless some1 gets hold of the server code and make an unoficail pirate server but i cant see it happening the game is still going and as other people as long as its making a profit and not costing money to keep running it wount be took off till its replaced or get that out of date every1 leaves.

There could be an upside to someone getting the server code though, maybe they could fix it so they dont have to restart it once a day to fix the scatty npc's

I'd just want enough code so I could go into my house and look at all of the loot I have. Also maybe have enough of the code to have the tusken fort. Without the new high end mobs of course, and I would need the frogs so that I could get my buffs and armor before I go to.

the tusken executioner aint new its part of victors mission in bestine you need to take him it's head to claim the reward. and i got killed by an observer monthes ago.
