You're unlucky that you didn't get in. I have 2 guildmates that aren't really even playing and they got into beta. I didn't sign up but regret that now, would have been great just for forum access but oh well. You have to deal with it. Just because you are spending $90 a month doesn't entitle you have what you want. And these "I quit unless" posts won't do you any good. Better to just cancel quietly because most are in the same boat and don't care.

once you realize this truth, your timewith the game will be alot less stressful and more rewarding

I don't get this uproar of people who have not gotten into beta and are quitting. As far as i know if you didn't get into the SWG beta did you not buy SWG anyway when it was released. What's so different with this beta? With six accounts i thought you and your family were happy playing SWG to pay $90 a month to play. I am sure they are plenty of players who don't post (and we know there are) and are waiting patiently for invites or the open beta or even waiting till it's released so that they can play the final product.

Cancelling your accounts only hurts you and makes it better for everyone else since it clears up any need for the servers to connect with you. So Cancel and Have yourself a nice day. Did you ever stop and think that maybe there are concerns for selecting participants other than how many accounts you have or if you have played from day 1 or even earlier?

heh, i'm also fed up, i can deal with the CSR's never answering 1 question, problem, or comment. thats okay, and no biggie, but when i ask a simple question about if i didn't have my email verified, he/she told me to ask players, or check the forums, that was just the last straw, cause he told me he/she can't help with beta or tc, but they can tell a guy if invites are still going out, and that he will be getting on this weekend, today most likely, now does that make sense? i think not...

Hey, I love this game....I admit it. I was in Beta and have been playing since the start.
I also admit I was hesitant about the CU and all the changes that effected my character and all I had built, etc. I'm still a bit skeptical about having to group all the time (ecspecially when the double xp days are over)
But beyond all of that is customer service. I understand that maybe the people that are here maybe have been thrown into the fire as well and asked to be as graceful as possible, but I don't think they are hitting their mark too well.
First of all no real advanced warning about what to expect and when to expect it for the CU. Sure I went to the Test Center and tried some things out...but I also followed instructions when there ("like to focus your testing on X", etc), so it wasn't always fruitful for learning what I may need to change about my character without losing everything.
My toon was a Buffbot (don't flame about it here...heard it all before...my defense is that it was part of the game and people wanted buffs...supply/demand). My understanding of changes to my profession on the CU was that buffing would change and items would be converted...but still no timeline and no hard numbers about what it converted to.
My mission was to Buff as much as possible knowing that it may mean a change in career/business for my character and the best way to do that was to build some funds to invest in a new future for him. So I come up with an average I buff per day...make a deal for buffs to cover that and the general outline of time (that it was coinciding with ROW and the movie). THEN BOOM..."CU goes live today". I still thought that maybe my items would be worth something...wrong! Millions in buffs down the drain. Still I decided to keep my chin up and use the "respec" they had given us to change things. So I am testing out professions...mostly crafting and business...trying to find a niche to make some credits in this game. I am keeping up to date about the respec and how it works and how many days I have left when I read this post from Thunderheart:

• All existing characters that have not used /respec will have 21 days from the date they login (after CU went to Live servers) to utilize their /respec abilities. After 21 days the above pop-up message below will be shown to alert the player of their final /respec.

• The Respec timer has been extended for all players who logged in directly after the CU went Live to 6 additional days from today. On the 6th day please read your respec pop-up boxes very closely. Any mistakes made will not be corrected by Customer Service.

Below is the warning message that will pop-up in gamefor your last character respec:

*WARNING* - Your ability to respec is about to expire.

Your ability to respec your character is about to expire. You may still respec your character during this session, however, once you log out from this session, your ability to respec will be revoked. Please make sure that the way your character is when you leave this session is your final desired configuration.

The following is the standard respec message:

You have been authorized to respec your character; that is, to reassign your skills and player statistics. If you would like, we can begin this process now. We recommend, however, that you play with your existing character long enough to determine what you would like your new skills to be.

Click "Yes" to begin the process now, "Later" to be reminded later, and "Never" to never be reminded again.

You may also begin the respec process at your leisure by using the command "/respec".

So I think great...I'll just wait until I see the *WARNING* and make my final adjustments. It does seem like I have plenty of time to choose and try things...and I appreciate it. I decide the other night that I should make some more adjustments to my template and respec again...."sorry...you are not eligible". What? NO *WARNING* Why say there will be a warning and then not have one? So I file a ticket and find out that many others had this problem and many did receive their warnings. I am pretty confident that this is an ISSUE and there will be something to set it right since they told us it would work one way and did not. By ticket is responded to by a CSR whom says that it is a known issue and to look to the forums this week for a resolution. Then we get this from Tiggs:

We understand some players are experiencing issues with the respec ability ending. Unfortunately, Customer Service will no longer be able to fix these issues. The respec timer started when first logging in after the Combat Upgrade went live on April 28, 2005. The timeframe has since been extended multiple times. If you logged in on April 28th, your respec timeframe would have ended on May 25, 2005. We have given advanced notice in the update notes, as well as posting multiple warnings on the forums about the respec time ending and to be careful when respec’ing.

Unlike many other games, SWG offers players the ability to respec at any time, via standard gameplay and the surrendering/earning of skills. Going forward, all character template changes will need to be made through the legitimate earning of experience and application of that experience to the appropriate skill boxes.

Again, Customer Service will no longer be assisting with respec issues.

Thank you for your patience.

Okay, well not only do you suggest that it is our fault for not watching our own timer (which would be hard to know since it was extended, etc), but you also suggest that WE are not playing the game legitimately because we are using the respec you gave us. I'm not sure about other games...I don't play many others that have totally changed the game and basically wiped some templates completely. I guess what I AM complaining about is that all of the changes to this game DO make it unique. Probably neither of us (CSRs or Players) are happy with all that we have been put through on both sides, but when you say something live up to it. Don't tell me there will be a WARNING when I do not get one. Don't suggest that I AM doing anything not legitimate in this game that YOU have implemented. Step back and see that these players love this game. If they are complaining and this is getting to you to the point that you need to lash out at us or feel like we are complaining too much...maybe there is a legitimate reason we are complaining. I don't believe on either side it is personal or people are just trying to screw the players. Maybe all of this will make the game better in the long run. Just live up to what you post.

It would be different if they had never stated that there would be a WARNING...but to say it and then back out of it when they know it didn't work is hardly our fault...but "its just a game" may turn into "it's just your job" when people start falling to the wayside from all these kinds of things and there is no need for so many servers or so many jobs that support those servers...maybe even just a little compassion as opposed to "other games don't do this"
