Ok...I am a very confused person. I bought the Star Wars Galaxies strategy guide and I have had it for a while. Upon looking at the ship chassis stats I have noticed that the belbullab-22 fighter is better than the Jedi Starfighter. Now at first I ignored everyone who said that the jedi fighter owns all...but eventually I was wondering who was right. Before I show you the stats remember these stats are printed by proffessionals and just because its called a "Jedi" starfighter doesn't mean it has to be the best:

Jedi Starfighter 1650 90k 21 .65Moderate Light

Now do you see why I'm confused? I have official information here that contradicts what is said by alot of people. Someone please help...

well ... nothing scientific, ortested..but:

I personally like the jedi starfighter alot better, granted they are on different characters with different components in them, but I seem to get hit ALOT less in my JSF vs Bel, also seemed to be a bit more manuverable.

i have no idea, but I do know for a fact that the JSF has more potential than the bel. i have and have flown both with exactly the same loadout, and the JSF is always a little faster, and a lot harder to hit. I use it for everything, and whenever i PvP, my jsf always kicks the crap out of any bel i find. Not "official information", but it's real

The B22 is slightly bigger then the JSF.

As for what that guide says.. I think it doesn't know what it's talking about. just my opinion though. The reason the JSF is unbalanced, same with the B22, is that it is small, has high mass, and the best chassis stats in the game. You have enough mass to stick on a lvl 8 engine, or lvl 10 depending on what you like, lvl 8 shields, and twin lvl 7 speed firing guns. Talk about a bullet of a ship... the speed coupled with it's small size make it a deadly ship. You can do the same to the B22, but it is slightly larger, and therefore a tad easier to hit.

That is why people like the JSF so much. Cept me... i hate that little critter.. lol Though I do love shooting them down in my regular Xwing

The JSF is better on a couple aspects. One, the hitbox is smaller, ergo, its harder to hit. And the Bel-22 has horrible visibility issues from the cockpit view.

I know that but is it proven that the jsf is more maneuvarable than the belbullab-22?

you are obviously misreading the stats, because they have the EXACT SAME STATS. manuevering, speed, mass, weapon slots are all the same between teh two fighters. the only difference is that the jedi starfighter has a smaller hitbox, making it the suprerior ship.

Glzmo was a great visionary. Perhaps SOE should have listened to him instead of rebuilding everything all the time.

ive flown them both, theyre the same minus size. The JSF is a bit smaller, and the B22 cockpit mode sucks. Placement of guns is close to the same, i like the b22's placement a bit better but thats just prefference. I have identicle engines in both and they move the same.

I haven't flown the JSF, but I have to agree about the cockpit view in the B22 is horrible. That, and there's serious clipping issues with the cockpit. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.

But all's well when I climb back into my TIE Interceptor or Decimator.

First off, the strategy guides for this game have always been unreliable at best, if not completely wrong. But this game is changing daily, so what can you expect.

Anyhow, as far as i'm concerned, the JSF and B-22 are both out the timeline they belong in and are overpowered in comparison to the "newer" models. So... Fly an X-Wing (or Tie Variant), and don't worry about it!

But, yeah... The JSF seems to be better than any other starship... And it shouldn't be, but i'll stop beating the dead horse now.

Sorry I forgot to post the stats...and trust me...I didn't misread the stats. And that's why I'm confused

Jedi Starfighter 1650 90k 21 .65Moderate Light

And remember it's from an official strategy guide.

Those are all good and well, but they mean next to nothing in game. Check the Pilot FAQ - both ships handle identically and have the same mass. In practice the only difference between the two is the slightly larger weapon spread on the B22, and the Actis is slightly smaller.
