Well I've been trying to complete this tier 3 imperial mission for 2 weeks now (with help from other players) but it just isn't happening. I'm not going to go into specifics about the mission or what I'm doing and when but I have to say this mission is waaaay to difficult and I will NOT be forced to group with other players just to do it. I'm not a casual gamer and I'm not a powergamer either but the devs really need to think hard on the difficulty of missions at each level.

Guess I'll just be using me ship for transport now. For the ammount of content in JTL it's just not worth it. I give up

once you hit tier 3, you must group to continue.

that's how it's set up. if you can't find a friend, then you can't advance.

well, you might if you are uber ace material.

"and I will NOT be forced to group with other players just to do it."

Just a thought, but try a single player game? I seriously do not know why people think they should be able to solo everything in an MMORPG geez. FYI Ive soloed to master pilot 3 times now (2x in SA, 1x Havoc, doing SS now to see how it is).

Question...if you hate grouping so much, why are you playing an MMORPG?

I'll be bloody impressed if you manage to solo Storm Squadron. Its pretty much impossible to solo, especially if it is your first Ace as you dont have the uber parts to retrofit the first time around!!

You do have a choice. If you choose not to group at the higher JTL mission levels, you just won't be completing the mission. It's the consequence you face for making your choice.

If you apply the situation above to the ground combat situation, it's the reason why the CURB has to happen (in some respect). Once combat becomes too easy, and not challenging, it gets boring.

Once it gets boring, people stop having fun and trying to beat the challenge.

"That which we obtain too cheaply, we value too poorly." - Mark Twain

If you were to apply this way of thinking too professions, then it could be said that every player should be able to be every profession all the time. Yes, that's hyperbole...but you get the point (hopefully).

...oh and by the way did you read the part where I said (with help from other players) I guess you selectivly chose to not read that bit.

Bring more (or better) help. /shrug

I don't mean any of the above to come off as callous or uncaring. I just call 'em like I see 'em.

All missions are 'easy' with the right help. I was lucky that I mastered pilot at the same time as many of my old guild mates so we would help each other out at each stage. Bottom line is you need to group, if your not willing to do this....you will never get anywhere.

The groups you have had obviously werent good enough!! Half the fun I had with JTL was because we all grouped and helped each other......Now we've all mastered its lost its enjoyment. Except for transport I havent played JTL in about 2 1/2 months.

I can see some of the point from both sides. One of the reasons I enjoy SWG is the fact that if I can't get a group I can still advance my character. In games like EQ if you can't get a group there's not a whole lot you can do. On the other side of the argument I do think there should be things in the game that do require groups.

I see all kinds of posts about people soloing ISD's and the Rebel space station, corvettes, and tier five gun ships. I'm sorry but although I think you should be able to advance your character with or without a group, nobody should be able to solo the high end content. A space station or Star Destroyer should rock your universe.

Maybe a scalable set up for missions. Challenging, but achievable for the solo player missions that get harder based on the number and pilot level of players joining in on the mission.

On a side note why do the Rebels have a space station in Deep space instead of a Mon Cal cruiser? Aren't the rebels supposed to be a mobile, jump from location to location kind of force? The Freedom station or whatever it's called seems, to me, to be a bit too static for the rebels guerilla style tactics.

Just some thoughts.

"Basically, once you see the inner workings of the Dev team you realize their game model is really just grind and stall. Make the players grind and grind so they keep paying and when there are problems stall stall stall so they keep paying waiting for fixes. Really...all the cores that quit recently are the ones that have figured this out."

I saw the part where you said you grouped - then I also saw the part where you stated you would not be made to group. Make up your mind.

Im on Storm Squad Mission 3 tier 3 right now, solo - nothing but crafted parts.

EDIT:

Just finished SS Mission 3 Tier 3.

I understand your frustration, its why this game is in the shape its in. Servers are empty, bugs are rampant, management dosen't do what they're suppose to, the list is endless. Servers get more action then the game.

Don't mind the stupid sarcastic remarks. As you can tell the they think a game that is a mmolrpg means you have to play with others. How wrong they are, but its not the first time nor will it be the last its explained in this forum that thats not the meaning of it. But its hard beating on a thick brick, there's no way to get thru' it.

Even months later after it began people are still complaining of this and still no response from management, and don't expect any.

Other games like CoH have a system to help you group up and the missions are suited to the amount of people playing it, but thats too much to ask of these people running this game.

Instead of fixes you get new swoops races and new loot, then they wonder why so many people have quit.
