we overseas customers have troubles in getting damned boxes shipped to us.

why get us into unneccessary trouble ?

many of us have already installed beta, and have most of the patches.

also many of us have been playing games since c64 and dont need no manual to get ahold of a space game.

so why are you getting us into unneccessary trouble i repeat ?

just deduce expansion's worth from my credit card and let me play dammit.

You don't even need the CD to play......... all you need is the JTL key and you will be able to download all of JTL. I did it myself.

good luck

Commitments with distributors has lead to this game needing to be released as a boxed product. After the recent problems in Europe this strategy may well go through a re-think especially as most of the blame has been pointed in SOE's direction when clearly they had no input in the release date in Europe.

SOE did their part, thecode was developed on time and declared gold, hence the launch date being met in the US. The best thing European customers can do is order from US distributors in order to show the European distributers that delaying the launch was a bad idea.

By the sounds of it Jump to Lightspeed is a fantastic addition to the SWG universe which is why I think most European players are so dissappointed with the delay.

Welldone SOE and fingers crossed that JtL will be the much needed kiss of life that SWG and the MMORPG genre needs right now.

biggest commitment is the commitment towards customers.

distributors do not buy the game. we buy it. and we are not pleased to be pushed into arduous proceedings obtainin a godforsaken box.

whoever those 'distributors' soe should dump them. it seems they live in not internet age but in the age of explorations.

the only goddamn thing these distributors need to do is selling the codes via their already present web ecommerce interfaces. amazon etc can readily do it. simple download sites are doing it so noone can come up telling they cannot.

i dont need a box, or a cd, or a manual. i only need the key.

I agree 100% with you Unity, that is why I have ordered my copy from the US. That way Activision UK do not get my cash

Hopefully if others follow suit then SOE will realise that a downloadable option for Europe is a better solution. Believe me, SOE don't want the grief they get. They are making business decisions that at the time they think will benifit them and us.

But the main point is, I agree with you. The delayed roll out in Europe has just caused unnecessarypain especially when it looks like a 100% downloadable option was quite possible after the beta launch.

where are we gonna buy the key ? where is it's utility in the site ?

Sadly, you can only get the key from the retail box... sorry : (
If you could get someone in the states to buy a copy for you and email you the key, that would work.........
I dunno what you mean by 'where is it's utility in the site'.

Ok, after all these posts about Europe, you guys don't have a clue how businesses market their products and what they can or cannot export and import. You guys...you live in Europe. That means ANY product from the U.S. must be exported. This means you have to pay tariff taxes. This also means that there is no way distributors can get you a product at the same time as they can in the U.S. These products have to pass through your country's customs, and then a distributor before it even hits the stores. Do you think SOE pays for the export taxes? No, the customer does.

Online downloads are a great idea, but very few game companies use it. In fact, SOE is the only one I know who does. (EQ Live) Take a breather and realize this is not SOE's fault. This is your country's and the U.S.'s fault. There is nothing SOE can do about international trade laws. You guys get the game in a week I think. I think that's very good considering what SOE has to do to get you guys the game. I have to wait longer than British do to get British products. And Brits have to wait longer than us Americans to get American products. It's the way it works, instead of griping on the boards contact your legislature instead and complain about them charging taxes on imports and the way they get products through customs.

When a game gets delayed a week or costs 20 American dollars shipping, think about your own government's tariff laws.

100 % downloadable option, even for distributors is a solution that can come to any clear mind minding his business.

you all know about the sites that sell software by cashing credit cards and afterwards allowing the software to be downloaded once.

there is no dl neccessary in distributor sites like amazon. only thing needed is the appearance of a cdkey in the screen. thats it and thats all.

and the web developer staff can integrate this in less than 3-4 days as it is only a minor mod to an existing system.

that way distributors can get the undeserved bread they want, we get our game, soe gets its distributors, everyone becomes happy.

situation is the opposite right now.

even if european distributors rolled it in time, why i should go to goddamn store and carry around a box to my house as im playing this game for over a year already ?

this is all because of 'marketing' departments of companies. they do not live in the age they live in, they live in an age past. they should be supressed while commencing new projects for project's sake.

there aint no tariff if i bring a box directly carrying it with me in the airplane as it is my personel property at the moment i buy it. likewise i dont guess that in most countries when something is purchased over the net they put a tax on it in the receiving end of the line.

first, it is uncontrollable, second it has no basis in legal stuff. shame on g britain government that they wiseassed something they cant. however in turkey noone is messing with what i buy from the internet, even if it comes via postage. as long as it is just 1-2 items, it gets only 1-2 dollars of processing fee. thats it.
