If JTL were standalone, it would have gotten horrible reviews.

It will be a form of a stand alone soon. Looke at PlanetSide. You can now Buy PlanetSide and PlanetSide: Core Combat in the same box for the price of 1. Thats as close as SWG and JTL will ever come to "stand alone".

JTL isn't complex enough nor does it have enough depth to stand alone.

As far as saving SWG I will say that it has had me back and playing both the ground and space game more than I did before. Sick of fighting on the ground and can't be bothered crafting? Blast into space for a while and have some good old fashioned blasting fun. I find also that while not a major link, having to land and explore planets looking for THAT component or schematic is all that more Star Warsy. I also like the story behind each mission, even if most of the missions play the same it is good to have a reason for it.
Standalone I think would just be a bit too much, it is not on par with many single player games but this is due to it being designed for an MMORPG obviously. Overall i think it is a good addition, but as it says on the box, all it does is expand the game.
If more links are made between ground and space, including space stations, then SWG will get that much better, but we will just have to wait and see.

What JTL need, in my humble opinion, is more planets to go to, and more space to fly in. Not that it is crowded now, by anny means, but hey, its caled star wars GALAXIES!!!!!!!. yea, right, GALAXIES!!!!!. Not much of a galxy in my book. A galxy contains billions of stars, how many does these have? Five or six?
And for the hole game SWG, ots too many servers to play on, making the population on the servers too small. And a bether global/galactic chat is needed, as it is now, the only way to try to find some help, is barking in Coronet.
But foremoust, GET RID OF ALL THE AFK ppl barking at space ports!!!!!!! A game dominated by AFK and macros/bots is a dead game, period.

Not
Even
Close.
Soon, there will be an outcry for a "space revamp".

Is that an agreement or you chastizing my statement?
I was thinking of JTL as a stand alone in comparision to other space type games like the X wing series.
So no, not complex enough, not enough depth in comparision to other stand alone games. Personally i dont find JTL all that complex. Hell except for the corvette, i soloed 3 pilot professions already, there are some who've mastered under all 9 possible squadrons. Seriously, the most complex thing in JTL, is outfitting a low mass ship.
As for space revamp, not sure what you mean, or rather, WHERE WOULD YOU START? with the WO3 bug? or PvP damage?

Hi all
if or when this next expansion arrives, is it going to be another one that sony make us pay for, or is it going to be a free download for achange...because JTL is only good for getting from planet to planet, and imho was NOT worth the money.
NO CAPTAIN, I SEE NO SHIPS JUST HARDSHIPS
**I once ask a group if thay wanted a hand "as im a creature handler" thier reply was: no thanks we are in a hurry**

And you point is? SWG doesn't need to be saved, it just needs to ban all youdweebs who think you should be on the SOE payroll. It's a game, you know? If you aren't having any fun playing it then DON'T PLAY IT! End of story.
