It's not that the Bwing is bad, its just lots of people don't like the 'style'. It is a heavy bomber, a hoped up version of the Ywing. It's not as slow as a Ywing, but not as fast as a Xwing. It really depends on the 'style' of flying you like, Fighter, Multipurpose, or Bomber.

There are a few complaints.
One is the turning rate is kinda slow.
The other is that the cannons are very spread apart,
similar to the firespray, which can make hitting a target pretty hard.

Its like any other ship, you have to learn its strengths. Also you cant just jump into it and go slaying tier 5's with impunity. You need to plan every turn 3 seconds before you need to make it. Learn when to stop turning or rolling as the mass of the ship will carry you a little more. Once you learn how to harness the ships power, it is nasty. The usual Bwing Haters either dont have the patience to learn to fly it, or its not their style of play.

The only problem I have with the B-wing (and other bomber type ships) is that they really don't fit in JTL currently. There is simply not enough things to bomb, most of the content in JTL is much more suitable for smaller, faster and more maneuverable fighters. And in fact, most of the targets that should require bombers to take down can just as well be destroyed by fast fighters like the A-wing. In effect, an attack on the Star Destroyer with a group of A-wings would probably be as sucessful (If not more) than a similar attack with B-wings,partly because missiles are so dreadfully ineffective against the SD...
Also, for PvP it's just plain dumb to fly a bomber, since the extra firepower means absolutely nothing in the end.
That being said, I actually enjoy flying my B-wing,taking outthe gunboats and decimators in Deep Space.

you dont need a "bomber" style ship to have uber bombing abilities, but you do need to be imperial as other pilots get shafted, the imp bomber (tie-bomber) sucks for bombing as it only has 2 missile launchers, the tie-oppressor which isnt a bomber at all (maneuvers like an a-wing) has 3 missile launchers which you can stick 3 spacebomb launchers in it and destroy any gunboat/corvette asap of course you have to recharge since most spacebomb packs only hold like 4 missiles but it is still super fun to fly around just to bomb a capital ship then hyperspace out of there, nice for roleplaying aspects too. i just think it is unfair that the imps get the best ship + bstrike3 which is so overpowering that i cant believe it is even in the game, i bet an imperial could solo the star destroyer with bstrike3, that is how powerful it is. corvettes are already painfully trivialized, anytime an imp 4/4/4/4 wants to become an ace they just ask one imp ace to help them solo it, though even a 4/4/4/4 ace in a bomber can solo a corvette with bstrike2 which in itself is just wrong. im surprised i dont see the strategy guides out there saying "novice to imp ace in 7 days while solo" or something corny like that.
on the flipside, once i figured out how to use the tie-bomber it became the best possible ship to solo with up to ace and it is very similar to the longprobe and b-wing though i dont see why any rebel ace would want to use a bomber... i think the b-wing should be teir 3 or 4 or something like the tie-bomber since they are very similar in maneuverability. however i'd rather a ton of b-wings in my wing going against a star destroyer than a ton of a-wings with 0 spacebomb launchers.

You're full of sh!t you know that? When in the hell does Oppressor ever perform like an A-Wing?The handling of the Oppressor is only about 10% better than the TIE Bomber. And no, the Imps don't have the best ships, the Freelancers do, however. It makes mewonder if you have ever flown any of theImperial ships at all.

Having been a rebel ace, and a freelancer ace, and currently a 4/3/4/3 imperial pilot, im, as so far, inclined to agree with the above statement.
As for opressor handling, i suspect its somewhere near that of a Krayt.
As for the B wing:
Yes, it turns slow, however ive found that it "sumersalts" (pull diagnally on your stick to use yaw and pitch) QUITE well. It takes awhile to learn how to fly one effectively, and alot of practice in "how not to oversteer the B wing". Other than that, the 4th gun is whats a problem convergance wise. you have 3 in one area, then this 4th one stuck way out on the end that tends to shoot under the target.

I prefer my Firespray. Fairly manuverable and good mass, it's a solid ship. I fly that and my YT. 's about it. Just got to learn your flying style.

More manuverable ships are simply better thats why. More accuracy / time on the tail of another ship is a greater advantage than any extra weapon hardpoint you can get. Combine that with needing to severely compromise to fully outfit the B wing along with needing a semi rare looted reactor (or a 50k mass L9 heh) and they can be difficult to outfit in an effective fashion.
Ill put my Rihkxyrk up against a B wing any day in comparing firepower.

The B-Wing is a decent ship, but it's only as good as the pilot. People don't seem to understand it. You're not going to be able to just hop into it and fry fighters, you're going to have to practice with it first and learn how it controls. I went out to an Imperial station near NabooI think it was and practiced on tier 2 TIEs for a week or two to get the hang of flying it.
It's all about increasing/decreasing the speeds at the right times and moving your joystick or mouse just enough to get the enemy in your sights. Once you do, let fly with your cannons and nuke the enemy as fast as you can (or do as much damage to it as you can) before it passes you.

It's a decent ship for combat, but it's not as good as the X-WIng, A-Wing, or even the Y-Wing. But still, it is a good ship.

See your compairing PvP to PvE, Sure in PvP manueverability is all that and a bag of sausage. But in PvE manueverability isnt the only game in town. If you want to play that game sure ill toss in my Awing, we can do that all day long. We are simply saying it is dependant on your flying style, obviously you hold manuverability over firepower, others dont.
