Well, it might be joystick related, as I don't use one, I use my mouse (as a "virtual joystick" as it were). My joystick (a monster called CH Force FX) is too old for it's force feedback to work in Windows XP, so it's got no resistance in the handle, which makes it a hell to use for much at all.

But no, didn't notice that happening. I might have gotten the instructions mixed up though, I'll try again next time I'm out flying.

I have an issue with the ship speed occasionally resets to zero, and then goes back up to the level it was. Anyone know why this is happening and, more importantly, is there anything I can do to stop it from happening?

I always play in third person... maybe that's why. Weird still though, and it sort of ruins the whole "flying through space" thing to hit speedbumps every so often.

I can confirm that we're not talking about rubberbanding, the speed-indicator actually hits zero, then climbs back up just as when you accellerate your ship normally. Rubberbanding doesn't (or atleast, shouldn't) do that. Besides, rubberbanding will move you back a bit, that doesn't happen - it's just as if the ship hits a speedbump.

It happened with the starter Z-95 and it happens with my current Y-Wing (I got JTL just two days ago). I haven't tried with the Sorosub yacht as I don't really fly around much in that, but I'm pretty sure it's not ship-specific. It's also happening all the time, not just on peak hours.

Some kind of dev-response on this would be sort of neat methinks - it's apparently not just me having the problem.

Ferrek, do this for me please. Get in your yacht and hit the booster. Pull up the entire time. Even after your booster expires continue pulling up. While the booster is in cool-down mode and your speed is lowering to your regular max speed tell me what it does.

Then, try it again. THIS time turn your booster OFF before it runs out. Tell me if it does anything.

You will be annoyed.

It sin;t rubberbanding though. The speeds go to 0. I have rubberbanded before, all that changes is your position not your speed.

What we are experiencing is a bug. I can't tell you how many times I have reported it.

Also, aver notice how bossters on MP ships are TOTALLY whacked out? The stick reverses once the booster times out and you speed is lowering to max speed from max boost speed. Also, if you cut your booster in an MP ship before it expires it ofter resets you back to zero speed and you then gain speed from zero up to max.

It's all a pain and it's very annoying.

Uh... Ok... I did that, I think, but I don't know what I'm looking for, so... *shrug*

Did the stick reverse when your booster expired? When I am flying it does. when pulling back was up originally, pulling back makes the ship go down. This is SO freakin annoying.

Also, with the one where you cut the booster it sometimes will just reset your speed to zero.

If it isn't doing it to you, maybe it's some fricked up setting of mine.
