This is an apology to Dalyn. I have dealt with a lot of people who sell things at prices I consider to be too cheap and for some reason decided to take out my frustration in your direction, which you did nothing to deserve. You aren't even on my server. I apologize for my actions and any harsh words/comments made in your direction.

The guy posted an apology. The monkeys should lay off the three.

The man recognized his mistake and apologized. That deserves respect.

Trashing him further is lame. Very lame.

True, he did apologize to Dayln and that is commendable. What my post was about was how he gets pissed off at people for not selling things at the price range HE THINKS they should.

One doesn't have anything to do with the other.

You should look at it from other people's perspective. They think you are selling things too expensive. They think you are price gouging.

So, the CORRECT price to sell stuff in this game is not what YOU or anyone else THINKS it should be. It's what the customers will pay and what is FAIR.

YOU have no right to try and set the prices on things that YOU THINK they should be. You have ZERO right to get pissed off because YOU think it should be something else.

Who died and made you the price controller?

If a person wants to sell things at 3CPU, that's THEIR business.

NOONE has a right to tell ANYONE what prices they should be selling at. NOONE is in control here except the customers.

If Sears wants to get pissed off at Walmart for selling less, that's fine, they can get pissed all they won't but that won't stop the customers from buying at Walmart because Walmart provides a better price for the customers and don't rip people off.

Ummm - the guy posted an apology for his actions. If you don't think it was "enough" and you want to beat on him some more, maybe doing it via private messages would work better? Re-starting the whole flamewar doesn't produce much value.

I price things how i feel they should be priced. I leave some room in the prices for repeat, bulk, or special customers. And if someone thinks i'm too expensive i can tell them exactly how i reached that price, down to the exact cost for every component.

Customer: 'Can i have it for XXX?'
Me: 'No'

Customer2: 'I'll give you XX for it'
Me: 'No, and if you try to haggle anymore the price goes up'

Customer3: 'I can get it from XXX for XXX'
Me: 'Then why are you bothering to talk to me?'

Its a free market, people charge what they want and pay what they want. Its the nature of the beast.

Actually, the next apology that gets posted should be yours for hijacking his thread and flaming him. Also, as everyone else, I didn't see ANY reason for you to respond to this post. He was trying to make up for his actions. If you cant be constructive, dont post.

I realise I will often draw that kind of fire ever since I decided to champoin the idea that we are all free to choose our own prices and compete as businesses.

Looking at my post again it looks to me like i'm fanning the flames a bit but that was not my intent. I was attempting to show that he has no need to apologize for his pricing, everyone has their own methods to reach those magic numbers.

Think nothing of it, Gogo... this post was purely meant to apologize for my actions, NOT my pricing. Dalyn has as much right to sell items for 3cpu as I do for 6cpu. I just get flustered when I see a community of Weaponsmiths and Armoursmiths who understand the value of their items and price them accordingly. I just do not see that in the Architect tree. I keep hearing "well that's what it is worth to me". YOu know what? More power to you then. Just keep in mind that now, like weapons and armour, there are differing degrees of our profession. if you, as a master, are selling and advertising at 3cpu, regardless of the structure being made, you are forcing the novices of our profession to go even lower. so, your prices are doing more than just making you rich becuase you sell by volume, you are making life harder for those trying to climb our tree, as well as devaluing items and deeds that have already been made. those are the only points i wanted to make, and i did a poor job of it by lashing out at someone who isn't even on my server.

dalyn has accepted the apology so I hope we can let this thread go the way of the Dodo, Gogo... (sorry.. i couldn't resist = )
