Thread: A suggestion for JTLS : Multi-passengerd vehicles
That'd be awesome! Certainly more intresting than watching your ship explode. There used to be a bug where sometimes the ship would move, but the person wouldn't leaving the person stra nded in space. Then you can see the person struggle in space... I'm so bad. Then you clone on the ground, and repair your ship
>( this is another idea i had in mind but would mess up the whole game. Just want to tell ya guys ) There should be like a time portal thingy that brings you back in the clone ages. Interesting but it wont happen hehe. ( unless.......... )
Go to the Clone wars you mean? I certainly hope not... I mean, we don't need it. We have lots of episode 3 content here, quests, clone trooper armor, geonosians, Jedi, jedi starfighters. Just alittle RPin and you're all set
Jedi padawans running around 'wtfpwning', people running around care-free in Clonetrooper armour in cities not held by the Empire. Episode three Starfighters flying circles around the A-wing.
Who needs a portal?
Great idea, it'd be hilarious to see
.
To go along with your idea: Make it so the pilot flightsuits and helmets provide the crew with limited protection from space. Maybe a couple seconds or so to see the battle from outside a ship. Almost like an incap, but more cinematic.
my 2 cents ![]()
Ok.. i will go for it... but i need sombody to tell me how to get the devs attention so that it can be made
And ya great idea. ppltaht r sucked into sapce will ahve say about 30 seonds. then death.
But if any devs read this reply to this post adn tell me what u can do to make it happen
ty.
this is a great idea, just a couple of ideas to add on. maybe have some sort of special fly suit that if your in a room and theres a leak and blows a whole, your flung into prone and have to slowly move to the locked doors/airlocks. if your not wearing a suit, well....you know. then if a hole blows in a seperate room someone without suit would slow down, and if 2 holes in seperate rooms blow, person with suit would slow down and person without suit would start going prone. then if 3 holes blow in seperate rooms, person without suit would start getting dizzy (start losing health and mind) and person with suit would go intoa fast prone and so on.....
just an idea

I understand your idea but think about reality....the vacume going into space is so powerful you wouldnt have time to go prone, youd just... fly out the side in like 3 seconds, even with a suit on.
I still ned sombody to tell me how i can contact the devs to tell them this idea

Reality is that you hear a whistling sound, feel a rush of wind, loose light objects get knocked over or sucked towards the hole. Humans would start getting trouble breathing and as the air thinned the saliva in your mouth and moisture on your eyes would start to bubble because it's turning gaseous. 2 to 5 minutes later everyone on board would have died of asphyxsiation, but as we saw in the movies, they have portable oxygen masks for those events. The difference in pressure is only 1 PSI, pump up a tire to 2 PSI and stick a nail in it, not much happens or hold you hand in front of a vacuum cleaner. Pretty much the same "power"
To get an explosive decompression capable of throwing humans around you needto remove3 square foot of the ship. The decompression will be the least of your worries then. And it still won't be powerful enough to suck you out, just knock you over.
What you're describing is what happens in movies, not reality.

Well said. This doesn't seem like a very good idea, because once you have a hole in your ship there doesn't seem like a way to repair it short of being able to get to a space station which would theoretically be impossible. A hyperspace jump with a hole in the ship would cause interia and momentum, flinging people out of the ship in hyperspace. Of course, that's a theory, but is seems right.
I'm not against or in favor of the idea. It won't get done anyway since there are a lot of other things that need fixing and more general content the devs want to do. This requires a completely new system to move people around and injure them since we have no environmental damage present in the game (who hasn't takena swim in Lok's acid waters?). It'stoo much work with too little payback. Might get doneas a sidenote to addingenvironmental effects on planets if that's even in the planning.
I'm just against calling it reality. It saddens me so many people get their science from movies, whichdo it wrong in favor of visual effects orplot lines. Or just get it wrong because they don't have the funds, time or will to contact a scientist.
I guess u do have a point there. But SW is fiction and SWG is made from SW. None of it is true, doesnt mean u can't add a little more fiction to it. ( from waht i ahve heard there is no pressure in space, and when i say a whole i mean a big whole ) And yes they should aslo make dangerouse environments. If they do actually do that, when the ship is gettting hit and pieces fly around in the ship, it should be able to kill anybody who is hit by it.
But if possible ( lol for the third time ) I need to contact the devs... c waht they say about this idea.
Contact the devs: Theoretically, they read it here. Official way: Post it on the pilot forum, gather a "majority" behind the idea, then the pilot correspondent will post the idea on the correspondent forums where the dev's read everything. Getting a majority isn't about making a petition and getting people to sign. It's using good arguments to convince us it should be implemented. Currently, all I get is a "wouldn't it be cool if" feeling. What's the bonus to this idea? Other then immersion?
And like I said I don't mind seeing this idea implemented, even if it is bad science. Star Wars is all about bad science. But it requires some fundamental changes to the game engine with too little payback. One of the reasons MMO's hardly ever have environmental damage is because lag can let you walk straight into a pool of lava. Suddenly dropping dead due to lagisn't fun.
And it's correct there is no pressure in space, but pressure differences considered, there's a very low pressure aboard the ship. Humans can walk around in vacuum with an oxygen mask, trouble is you'll dehydrate really quick.
To finish, whole means complete, containing all parts, not damaged.
A hole is an opening or perforation.
Spell it right if you're going to post it on the pilot forum, people will take you more serious then. Being a non-native english speaker and knowing dyslexic people (on the internet and RL) I'm more relaxed about such things.
