Can people help me out here? When I have my pet out helping me, I only get one CH xp per kill. Is this a bug? Or is this where you only get one per kill? What is a good way to gain in xp seeing that if it is one per kill, it will take meover year to gain in the skill. I mean, I want to at least go a little faster in gaining skill. And please don't tell me I have to do like UO on gaining taming: tame, release, tame, release...etc. I spent way too much time doing that boring crap on UO to get my master tamer to do so here on SWG. I would at least like to have fun, while training. So can anyone please tell me ideas on gaining faster so I can at least spend more time just playing the game and exploring new area's instead of sitting around doing the taming/release scenereo.

Don't quote me on this, but it seems that the weaker the pet and the stronger the foe, the more exp you'll get.

I've been using a cu pa and killing anything between kreetles and feral banthas, and gotten a minimum of 30 exp per kill, maximum so far of 140. I had the same problem though, when I started with my wasteland cu pa... he was too tough to get any exp out of.

You only get 1 exp when your pet's difficulty rating is much higher than your target's. If you use a weaker pet, or take on tougher enemies, you'll get more appropriate exp.

Unless you already have good combat skills, I would suggest a weaker pet. Reason being is otherwise you're gonna have to fight harder mobs to gain good exp (youre not using a 5k+ HAM pet to kill 200 HAM mobs are you?) Until your pet is near full grown, it's gonna have trouble fighting the mobs that conn close to it (I managed to tame a mountain worrt as my first "highbie pet". I had to fight yellow+ mobs to gain any exp, and they were too tough for me to kill, as well as for the pet cause it wasjust a punching bag pet and fell too fast due to lack of armor rating and good resists).

Like many will say and have said, get a cu pa from tatooine. I've used cu pa's to exp the whole time, and I'm just 2 skills short of getting master CH (I just need empathy and training IV, but I'm exploring planets with my rancors for a bit, taking a break form the exp grind).

Thanks, I'll try a weaker pet. But no, I've been hunting on Lok, so all the creatures there have over 3k hams that I'm fighting which is higher than my pet. That is why i was wondering. And I do have really good pistol skill, being a pistoleer as well. Ok, thanks. I guess I'll go to a different planet and tame something else and fight cretures on that planet.

The mobs you are fighting are higher than your pet now, but are they higher than your pet will be when he is grown? Your exp is based on the strength of your grown pet, even when he is a baby.

get into a group, get buffed, ham and entertainer buffs and head to yavin4 to the geo caves my friend, watch the xp fly

Get Buffed
Head to Dathomir
Find Giant Baz Nitch missions on the terminals for 11k
Take one brandy
Kill them in about 4 hits and gain 4.3k XP a Time.

I was racking up about 200k XP Per hour doing this.
