If you want to start a thread about PvP damage, just say so. I'm sure that there are many pilots here who would be perfectly happy to tell you exactly why it's a bad idea to reduce PvP damage.

The sliding thing like you're on ice, so you can still turn while going in the same direction you did before turning, it was like that in beta. I thought that was very fun flying, you could do some nice stunts with that

because its twitch based it should be more based on skill then actualy ship system specs.

It doesn't.

It is.

First sorry someone shot you down; where you faction grinding at the time?

Second if this was a BSG (Battlestar Galactica) Space sim that would work because they use a Newtonian physics model... and if there was such a game I would be on it like stink on a monkey... but this is based on Star Wars so unfortunatly constant thrust = constant Velocity

Play the game or don't it is what it is and will never be what it was for better or worse. I intend to play the game as long as it is fun, that does not make me a fan boy of brown noser. I know the game has it's flaws, but it serves no purpose to dwell in the past.

I was just gonna say, Someone watches Galactica!

I too wish that I could flip my Kihraxz (looks the most like a Viper I think) around backwards and toss some fire back at someone!

It would be great (IMHO) to have JTL work like real space, but it would be chaos too.

Can you imagine 100s of "Flight Students" drifting around out of control in space, crashing into one another, bouncing off and astroid or space staion? Hmmm, that sounds kinda fun really but, it would be a mess.

Most players unfortunately expect JTL to fly just the way it does.

This might have something to do with the fact that people in Star Wars actually do fly the way JTL does. Why is it unfortunate to expect a Star Wars game to behave like things in Star Wars do?

Pity the same can't be said for the ground game

Why did you post this twice? http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=pilot&message.id=107013

They really need to get rid of this board...

damage would be changed for PVP to be less damaging and missiles would become a better way to gain quicker kills (1 hit wise)

this would make players more agile and have to use Counter mesures more. (CM packs should also have more uses say 20 uses.)

JTL could become fun for everyone if a system that didn't rely on the BEST engin or shields or weapons was put in to game.

So you want less damage but more agile ships, and you think this will make PvP more fun? I'm guessing you don't PvP much, or you'd see the current model involves too much agility. With Cap to Shield Shunt an agile ship can last just about forever, until someone scores a lucky hit. Your idea is NOT a good solution to current PvP issues.

Regarding ship equipment - part of being a good pilot is putting together a good rig. But it's only a small part, I've shot down plenty of pilots in 'better' ships.

Quoted for truth. Why is this board even here anymore? Can someone name ONE issue that would not be better located under either the Pilot or Shipwright profession forums?

Absolutely! Worse is that at least in those forums, we can say, "FFS, RTFF!" Alas, no FAQ here...

I maintain that the proper abbreviation is "RTFFAQ". FAQ is not a word, but an abberviation on its own. The last part of the abbreviation is not dropped just because we add it to a larger abberviation.

(Side note: Why the hell is "abbreviation" such a long word?)
