Thread: xp cap

In every other profession, the maximum amount of xp you can store is equal to twice the requirement for the most expensive skill box you have the pre-reqs for.

eg. A 1-3-2-2 Weaponsmith could hold enough weaponcrafting xp to fill 2 tier 4 boxes.

This would suggest a novice politician with 0-0-0-0 is capped at 2x a tier 1 box = 2000xp = 20 votes.

So, is the intention that all votes past the twentieth provide zero xp in the first election cycle due shortly?

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

The cap for politicians is a flat rate... 200 votes or 20,000 exp is the cap. You wont hit this for a while

Sigh... I've heard 2x max tier, 10x max, and now the 20k flat rate. I wish we could have some definitive confirmation

A player received a PM from a dev (GreenMarine) with this information in it.

The relevant PM log post is located here: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Politician&message.id=6565&highlight=200+politician#M6565

It's a copy of several PM's between Arrya and GreenMarine. For those that don't want to copy paste here it is in quote:

Arrya wrote:

These are from a couple PMs we sent back and forth:

I asked for clarification on the upcoming changes - the guide put up on Friday conflicts with the in game information and so we do not know what to expect.

- The guide was put up prematurely. A hotfix is going out soon with some changes to help fight griefing mayors:

- You can no longer set taxes on outposts. Any current outposts with taxes will have their taxes reset to 0.
- Cities now require 10 citizens to be valid. All other city rank population requirements have been raised by 5. Existing new cities will need 10 citizens instead of 5 to be valid.

That is mostly public information already, but it is not easy to find on the boards with the DevTracker being broke and no political correspondant.

Is there a politician xp cap? We are speculating that it is 2x the total of the first skill like most professions which would put it at 2000 xp or 20 votes. This would mean that many of us would end up wasting xp if we have over 20 citizens.

There are caps, but they are more like 20x. If you have more than 200 citizens you may hit the caps, but this won't be a problem for most mayors.

2. Does the militia get the /GrantZoningRights command? We know it used to on TC, but in the recent guide, it is not specificall mentioned among the commands that they get. It would be great to be able to delegate this command, but we don't necessarily want to give it to all our fighters who generally don't care about urban planning

Yes the militia gets the /grantZoningRights command

And I mentioned that we were all lost without Plinka bringing us invaluable updates.

- We are working to get Plinka back.

See the problem with the forums is that when one person thinks they know the answer they go around preaching it like the Gospel. One persons2500 xp does not answer the cap question.

Really? I thought the problem with forums was people like you.

I qualified my statement by saying "as per this thread" the reader is welcome to take it for what it's worth.

Evidence is evidence, if you require MORE evidence, that's fine. Don't attack me for trying to inform others of some first hand information.

Your FIRST HAND information is Hearsey and yer passing it off to everyone as if it were fact when it is merely a fact for one person. Go read the thread you started and you will now see that.

BTW I didn't one star your post but whoever did probably doesn't like your aftershave.

Yes, the problem with the forum is people like me who don't like misinformation being spread just so the person spreading can look like they know something.
