to those that lived before published 9 is in my opinion one of the greatest and most prosperous time in swg history...i remember seeing my first jedi..hearing that saber from the distance was like "What the Heck is That!!..omg..where!!! a Jedi!!!" everybody runs to look at the jedi.....man it was so rare to see a jedi then..then when they took holos out and created the disturbance in the force until they started the village up...and the devs nerfed bh payouts..jedi started coming out of the woodwork..testing their new skills and abilities...then the never ending jedi duels at starports became a common occurrence....jedi still retained its glow but the thrill of seeing one began to waine...then the village people came in...lol..i like saying that...then everyone started to work the village it seemed the road to jedi was mapped out much easier vs. grinding 31 professions...i think a lot of people even myself were deterred from jedi cause of the mindless senseless hours of clicking...lol...but the village...yeah..the village people made it easy....i started my fs branches tossing nades....all six branches bam!!..unlock..piece of cake....started grinding my jedi took me 2-3 weeks to get to all novices and 0042 sabers..yeah..grinding was harder then....even then most you could get was around 100k hr unless you cave camped...but after the first six phases was only a matter of time before a lot of people would start unlocking every phase and begin their psychotic grind through the jedi trees...i do have to admit paddy trials were fun....then the CU came...kashyyyk favorite hangout log in webwaver trail logout webweaver trail no fear of bh's and get 120k xp an hour...but i could go to dant get in a spin group get 300-400k hr.....now jedi are everywhere......seeing sabers and force powers at every starport...the jedi has lost the "aweness" that they once attained in the earlydays before the village people...i remember it was such a blast to see one jedi take on 8-10 players at the same time and win efficiently..but i guess those days are gone..a dawn of a new era of jedi have come.............

It was alot more fun back then just being a Jedi as well.

Not becuase you were "special", but just becuase the whole system felt more "Jedi-like".

I truly feel sorry for players who missed out on the "best" this game has ever had to offer.

Those days are gone though.............

Jedi are nothing more than Fencers/Medics with a different weapon, and forced PvP now.

Fun.

Steve Sullivan – Director of R & D for Lucas Arts Entertainment.

“I think George has always seen movie making and video games to be very closely related…..he cares about telling stories, and these are two different mediums in which you might tell a story”

I think we were able to “tell” better stories, when we had player interdependency, and multiple, variable classes.

As awesome as those days were that's what ruined the jedi profession. Eventually people were going to find easier ways to grind and more people would become finished tempaltes(or 4444 guardians back then). A lot of people who thought they were that awesome wanted to eventually become a jedi and be awesome. Well a lot of people eventually became jedi but did not get the awesome part, jedi is a teras kasi that gets a glowy sword and ugly white robe now.

Not the grind to jedi. It felt more jedi like as you were rare, and seeing one was a actually cool not just another idiot wearing a white robe. Now people just look at you and think hah a respec paddy.(even if your not..) Also how is it different from swinging a VK in a group of 8 people so some old guy says here you go, kill this guy and get a glowy sword?

It was not possible to respec into jedi. Jedi was not part of the original respec offered. I was MBH when the CU hit and I couldn't switch into jedi.

Everyone still had to earn the fs boxes and do the village quests. Everyone still had to grind the fs xp.

It was not until you actually had earned jedi that you could respec your jedi boxes.

I'm post-cu jedi and I earned it. Different from pre-cu, but still. You grinded 32 professions, or ALOT less inmost caes, and I had to to do the village where you could only take 1 quest each phase and had to trade xp for fs xp. You might say we had it easier cus of the double xp and the lair nades, but that was SOE's fault not the players. What could we do? Double xp was not a choice. If you wanted toplay at all for those 2 weeks you had to get double xp. It's not like I could stop it from happening.

Please stop calling us respec jedi, cus it is not, and never was, possible to respec into padawan. Everyone must earn the padawan title, get some jedi boxes, then you could respec your jedi boxes.

Now, people who respecced from pikeman into MBH/rifleman - that's messed up.

Well first off I did not ask for a nerf to respec padawans. I was just stating that playing a pre-9 jedi actually felt special like you did something that was actually hard. I was saying that nearly every nonjedi hates jedi. Simply because there is so many of us and that when they load into a starport they see hundreds of overt jedi. Pre-9 when you saw a Jedi It was like WOW!!!!THAT IS AWESOME!!! Like I said earlier now seeing a jedi is just looking at someone with a glowy sword and a white robe. Besides you and I both know they can not nerf just respec jedi or just pre-9 jedi, not that it matters anyway since I do not want jedi nerfed in anyway no matter how easy your grind was.

Not the point.

The point is JEDI was not part of the Combat Upgrade ever. This means there is no such thing as a respec padawan.

Nobody has or can just respec boxes and get jedi. Everyone must do the village and earn the padawan title. Not one jedi in game is a respec jedi, in that they did nothing to earn it.

Some players are jedi who were master sabers then repsecced into master defender or moved some boxes around, that's true.

However, as I said, NOBODY has jedi that didn't play the game and earn it. Yes, the way in which we earned it differes, but as I said in the las tpost, that's not our fault.

Blame SOE. I played MBH for 2 years and it was broken. If I had known they would fix it like it is now I would not have gone jedi. I went jedi because after 2 years ofplaying the worst proff in game - MBH, I was either going to quit game or do the one thing I hadn't done - be jedi. Now, I got jedi and they fix MBH and break jedi.

Go figure. Blame SOE for the influx, not the players. I'm just trying to have fun playing A GAME.

I am not argueing with any of your points that is what you are not understanding. I agree, heck congrats on waiting for the perfect time for SOE to do something like this. My point is that now when people look at a padawan they think blah yet another resec padawan. Comparing it to a pre-9 system when you saw a jedi it was the coolest thing ever. Not blaming you for anything just saying how it was more "Jedi Like".

guys are totally off topic..i was just reminiscing the olden days of jedi...we've come a long way since then...was just thinking it was much much cooler for jedi back then...when jedi were truly rare and hidden...jedi back then were also very very powerful, we are no where near as powerful as they were back then..literally a jedi can almost one hit you to death..lol.......i think i only saw 2 jedi before publish 9.....then from publish 9-10 started seeing a lot of jedi.....

I remember seeing a jedi for the first time about a year ago and it was simply amazing. However, its a different system. With the huge rush of young jedi coming to the galaxy there was no possible way to keep jedi as 'uber' as they were back in those days. Its the change of time. I'm a village grinder and pre-cu jedi. It would be awesome to have a more 'unique' character but that just simply can't be.

i agree its a different game now than when it was when jedi were uber rare...i just wish i was one of the uber rare jedi back then..lol...much more respect back then than now...i kinda wish it could be like that again..but it will never happen.....
