Thread: With Right Foods & Good Saber, MLS/MDef Still Formidable

Even with the AI & Healing nerfs, I think something like MLS/MDef/Enh 3000/Heal 2000 is pretty hot stuff.

valour+saberblock+vayerbok = 74% shots blocked. Even the best MBH template is gonna have a hard time hitting you for much damage.

Add Pikatta Pie, with it's 54 Dodge and even melee folks will have a hard time, too.

Now dab on some Aura and the damage goes down, down, down to Chinatown.

Just imagine if Thundercloud and Vegesparine actually worked - you probably wouldn't even need to use Aura.

Drink some Tea and eat some Blob Candy and Bofa and you can keep attacking a long, long time. Drink some Coreilian Ale and watch your accuracy zoom!

Force Run 1 means you're all over the place kiting and Force Speed 2 means you're slashing as fast as possible.

The weakness:

AI pretty much roots you. The solution? Don't use it unless you absolutely have to and face the fact that when you do use it, you better heal like a madman or prepare to die.

When an attacker gets out of your 32m saber throw range, you can't attack. This is the biggest problem with this template. The solution? Try to use Force Suppression to root and keep your prey close.

Of course, with a rifleman or carbine user, that's not usually possible - so pull out a damn rifle of your own, drink some pyro and blaze away. Or, if they are a rifleman shooting from afar, try and force run out of there.

Any thoughts on the good ole' FOTM? (BTW, my temp is MLS/MP/4040 Healer).

thats debatable

and really MLS/MD is not the fotm anymore it used to be but now its just OK cus now with the new CM/Doc breads of BHs MLS/MD is not meant for killing these

that is why now you see more Enhancer based templates withMLS bieng the standard (always has been always will be) allowing you to get other skills to counter the new types of opponents we are facing

actually is 74% chnace of blocking,u wont block 3/4 of the shots coming at u,ull have 74% chance of blocking on everyshot meaning u could get hit 15 time in a row and then block 3 or the opposite

Yes, this is my thought, as well. Even though Master Defender has been nerfed with the AI snare and with higher force costs for Aura, etc., it's still tough.

The one thing keeping me from doing this temp is the fact that a rifleman can just stay 35m away from you and blast ya' and you don't really have an answer.

In theory yes a rifleman can just keep 35m from you and shoot you to death but in reality terrain and lag will allow you to keep up with him. Most mls mdef temps have some enhancer meaning they have fr1, a root or a snare allowing them to keep up with kiters.

If a rifleman sets up 60m away from you, can't he just one-shot ya', move and keep out of your range?

I know my MBH/Rifleman can do this.

Not if you know what you are doing. As soon as I see a potential hostile (BH) I run up to them. Thats my strength close quarters fighting. If they choose to engage me there then I've already won.

I'm not sure how skilled the people that lose to the MBH/MCM template are to be honest. My template is the same as the O.P. and if my mind ever gets into a jam against this said template I can just stand there. Lol they hit me for so little I can wait for my mind to come back. Really with force run 1 /force speed 2 even a MCM will have a hard time avoiding the healing loop of death (unless I kill them outright first).

Personally I have more trouble with a pistoleer/CM 4000. Not that they hit hard but their intimidate makes my nice saber average at best.

I still think the FOTM is MDEF SAB 0404 ENH 4004 HEAL 4100 PVP/PVE wise

Everything you need ( force speed, meditate, FR2, root, snare ) and with the right tapes, a nice saber and the good attack macros like : sabHeadHit ; pause (your mod) ; saberThrow; pause ; saberheadhit (not recursive cause it doesnt work, and thats not an exploit macro ), you just rule ...

That same rifleman also moves slower with his rifle equipped, and you can use parwan nutricake for a few burstruns following each other.
