I still see jedi puting in pearls/crystals with the lowest fc and not the highest dmg. Pre-CU it was imperative that you had at least a -10 fc saber if not -9. But due to diminishing returns, introduced in the CU, there doesn't seem to be much difference between a -15 fc saber and a -9 fc saber.
anyone else on the same page?

I'm on the same page, but in a different book. Post CU saber and my FC is 24. Wow, would I love to have a 15!

The smart Jedi switched pearls a few days after the CURB. The rest will slowly figure this out.

There are people who believe force cost is not important, and if that works for them, fine.
But Jedi barely have the same minimum damage (more important) and nowhere near the same max damage (less important) as other combat professions, so we aren't some high damage dealers in most situations, we have to be able to outlast others and you can't last long with a FC around 30 like alot of people seem to have.
I can go practically infinitely long in terms of force cost with my single digit FC grind saber, but one picket lair or one long duel takes 50-60% of my force easily with my 25FC, so it's really quite pathetic compared by my ranged alt that merely needs to sit for a few seconds and he's good to go.

my worst pearl is 84 damage and -9fc. Ive traded it out for a 102 damage -5fc one but quickly trade it back out. Force cost will always be an issue, especially since CM battles tend to last more than 5 minutes.

I had two BH fights this weekend that lasted an hour or more so my FC is definitely important. The BH's the come around these days are so good at healing that there is no way to stay in an extended fight unless your FC is as low as you can get it. My Crystals/Pearls are all 91-96 Dmg and every one is -6 FC....
It's going to take a nice high damage tune to get me to switch one of those out for one with a higher FC.

I still believe force cost is important, just not as much as it used to be. All about finding a balance between the damage/FC that suits your play style.

FC > Dmg IMO, althought its an easier debate in my situation as my best FC pearls are NOT my worst Dmg Pearls. If 23dmg pearls had -10 fc and 90+ dmg pearls had -4, I'd probably go with the damage, especially if it got me in the 650+ club. FOTM temps have this problem more than dual masters too. With a larger force pool, MLS's don't care if they sve 5 force per attak, especially if they have an uber dmg saber.

actually you should start to worry about FC maybe not in jedi vs jedi or pvp but defently with BH's.
Don't know about your server but on corbantis quite a few of the old time bh's are coming back, and have plenty of credits to equip themselfs with the best stuff around, and those fights will go on for a very long time until one makes a mistake or lag or something if not the fights could go on for ever "but our force"
more and more as bh learn how to fight and start to have money to get better equipment you will need that extra force

Even in some fantasy SWG world with a 0 FC LS you will still pay force per special, Dervish has a base force cost of 50 regardless of what FC your LS has, IMO the difference between a 9 FC and 15 FC or even 20 FC is fairly minimal with a difference of paying 65 FC or 78 FC with Dervish between the difference FC sabers. My 18 FC LS does fine but didn't seem to be all that different from when it wsa 26 FC.

difference between a 10 fc saber and a 30+ saber is double when it comes to specials, so its still alot

at 30fc ... yes I worry about it. So much that I rarely play my jedi anymore.
533-629 dmg 30 fc vs 520 -1040 dmg0 fc sword
