Still a lot less people online though. Normally when I get back from the club on a weekend, I'll log in for some late night SWG. Used to be that Saturdays were always poppin'...lot's of people on and whatnot. Now it just seems like a ghost town...even on the weekend.

For me they are screwed up...

The fight i watched yesterday between BH/CM and Master Defender which was about perma-snared. Mostly could hit the BH only with Saber Throw and only a few times directly with placing root on the BH for a few seconds. Now imagine any other Melee Profession there who doesn't have ranged attacks like jedi do.

same here. usually i log on and have like 30-40 of 126 friends on but last 2 days only like 3-6 at the most. plus usually i get hunted within 5 mins of me loggin on and get hunted 2-3 times a day. past 2 days only been hunted twice. i stood in the MO for 4 1/2 hours using force and lightsaber in front of ppl just to build up more vis so i could get hunted. finally get hunted by the stupid new BH temp and i kill him in 5 moves. sad, the only BHs who have logged on in the past 2 days sent it all on grinding a garabe temp which is worst then the old FotM BH temp they had. i miss my friends and im sad to say that i miss those BHs as well. hell even the ones the cheat and exploit.

Jedi is not melee. Jedi is Jedi.

I have no sympathy for melee because it was the dominating force in the game for so long, and in many cases, it still is. If however, melee is going to get the beatdown now...well, you'll hear no complaints from me...it's been a long time coming.

Simply put...melee is not Star Wars. It is not my vision of the game, and while I don't care if it stays in the game, it should not be the dominant fighting style. Melee has its place in the 9,000 other fantasy-themed MMO's on the market...it doesn't need to be uber-pwnage here.

And yes, these are the thoughts of someone who has played a melee character pre-CU and done rather well with it, so...yeah. I'm not saying anyone has to agree with me (most don't because of the all the sword-fetishists that tend to play these games) but this is how I feel. That being said, yes it does suck that Jedi can be perma-snared as well, but such is the way of things now.

There are lots of non-jedi melee weapons in Knights of the Old Republic and even in some of the movies...lets see the Magna Guards from General Grievous or the Royal Guard...so don't tell me melee isn't part of Star Wars. Melee dominated pre-cu yes...but do they have to screw it up in PvP like they do now? If you ask me...no.

Melee should not be a dominating fighting style...SHOULD NOT....you're going to change my opinion on that. And I fail to see how it is screwed up...honestly. Not every melee fighter is going to...BAM..be insta-perma snared. I've seen it happen...it's not was easy as you make it sound.

Melee in KOTOR was over-powered just like in SWG...completely stupid in my opinion.

Grievous is a super-organic-cybernetic hybrid of a being...who was trained by Sith. I can accept him using Lightsabers given who trained him. The magna guards were trained by him (most likely), and as such they would be extremely proficient with their polearms. Beyond that he was said to be an extremely bright tactician...so cybernetics + Jedi training + Lightsaber = one tough Mo'Fo. And, lest we forget...he still carried a firearm...a firearm that killed him where I lightsaber could not.

Outside of the force pikes of the Royal guard...there's very little melee' to be found in canon Star Wars. So what...we have... 2 examples? Not much of a part of Star Wars now is it?

I stand firm in my viewpoint. You want to swing abarbarian sword...go play WoW or EQ2 or whatever.

Star Wars is a world dominated by guns, and the only melee fighters who can stand up against gun fighters are the Jedi, who are possessed of SUPERNATURAL abilities and training.

The basic fact is they have made the game "unfun" for allot of people swg or not when a game becomes unfun you stop playing.90% of my friends left around 3 days after the CU.Out of the 64 people in my friends list im down to two and one of those i havent seen since i told them what the "new" jedi robes actually were.

These days when i play its allways solo and allmost allways hunting blacksun spawns because everything else has been nerfed and thats all their is to do.

this game is dead

The crafters are gone, most of the cantina people are gone (musicans etc.), the GCW was dead before it even began, theres no worthwhile loot anymore (except for bh's and even their loot is questionable), the new expansions arent even "real" planets, and as for jedi we cant make nice sabers, theirs no FRS and we have been nerfed beyond repair at this point.

And to top it all off we are paying 5$ more a month than 99% of the other more popular and better ran mmorpgs. What hope is left for this game? and whats supposed to be our motivation to look forward to a brighter future?

Im just mad i wasted a year of my life on a jedi and to have it turn out like this is downwright gut wrenchingsuch a huge time investment makes it hard to quit.

Edit: Another thing to remmember is that we are here on the forums allmost constantly so we at least have the Dev's constant lies to keep us paying. But to someone who doesnt check the forums just a reg player all they know is that the game sucks now and its time to move on

Hello,

Today I lost another Veteran friend in the game.We started off bad since our guilds had a misunderstanding when we lived in RH butslowly for some reason we starting getting along. After a while even though she was and IMp and I was aRebel we were helping each other outalong the roda to Jedi. Ahna has been in the game as long as I can remeber and today I got the email that she is leaving SWG and the main reason is the game is not fun anymore beacuse of the lack of Fixes and the Nerfs to Jedi. I seen this coming for some time she has been so unhappy with the Nerf wars waged by the Devs against the Jedi since the Cu. TIGGS, TH, GARVA this is why Jedi are going nuts on the boards we are sick of seeing good friends quit because of a game you seem to refuse to fix and a profesion you seem to hate and love to nerf Jedi having Nerf War raged on them. I have lost so many friends to the Nerf Bat many of my guildmates and founders have quit over the on going Nerf Wars like Venia Halo. So if you have friend who have been lost beacuse of the mighty Soe Nerf bat maybe list there name here and if your a friend of Ahna maybe throw her a good by her.
