Wish I could remember the CSR's name, I cant, so wont guess. But couple months back, a CSR on the Ryyat Trail openly admited that BH are the Dev's tool to help control the jedi population by agravation of debt and harassment. Starcia and acouple other BH and jedi where there when he said it. Coursethe BH's who were there wont admit it because, well,I wont go into that(same goes for jedi using BH alts). By doing this over a long period of time they had hoped obviously large numbers of jedi would quit their jedi characters and to discourage jedi hopefuls. Well it certainly seems that the jedi population is at a steady 25% of total server population. But guess what Devs, you cant have star wars without jedi and cant have jedi without star wars, we arent going anywhere.
Why would they do this? Well look at all the headache it has caused them in coding because they never intended to have jedi in the game but threw them in there at the last minute untested, 6 months after the game launched just to appease the growing complaints of no jedi being in the game. They have been trying to patch on top of patches for the jedi coding just like the crappy Bria server instability problem. The less jedi there are, the easier it is for them to be ignored they obviously believe, just like the smuggler and commando professions.
What the Devs are doing is descriminating towards the jedi profession. How many times have they sided in any issue between a bh and jedi and chose the BH, more times than I can count. Jedi's dont have mission terminals or anything to get quests from, but yet here we are. We dont get customizable clothing, but here we are. We have the weakest weapons in the game, yet here we are. You might as well call them CDEF sabers, they're crap. One of the most rediculous things is the very thing that makes us jedi, our robes, are COMPLETELY USELESS, so anyone who's smart doesnt use them in a fight. I know I heard that the big guy Lucas never wanted jedi in-game in the first place and SOE and Lucasarts are always bickering at eachother about jedi and content, big deal, he needs to get his head out of his butt.
YOU, the Devs, all of you working there, KNOW, everyone wants to have a chance to play a jedi, period. So get over all your little suburban issues and fix the crap, add the content for jedi, quit breaking thecode of conduct agreementby the way for allowing the harassment and discrimination of players, thus ruining their gameplay and get on with it. WE pay YOU for a service, listen to our petitions when 90% of any server asks for something. If it cant be done right away, then say SOMETHING, dont just ignore your customers you morons. Prove to me SOE is a smart company by actually giving the PAYING customers what they want, not what youMAY of imagined during some hallucinagenic trip that causes everyone else on the servers grief.

1) The vast majority of profs don't get mission terminals for their specific profession. Bounty Hunters do, because where else would they get their bounties from?
2) Lightsabers are the STRONGEST weapons in the game. They (can) have massive elemental damage, AND a very high min damage. This means that in PvP and high-end PvE, they do more damage than anything else because they cannot be mitigated as well.
3) Robes are completely useless? I would think +500 force might help a little bit.

Until SWG can bring in EQ or EQ2 money, we will always be the red-headed stepchildren of SOE. Not just the Jedi in general, the entire SWG community.

I'm gonna try something new and get my Jedi off the terms. I don't think this matters though, I think you're put on the terms once you play for a certain length of time. I'm gonna test it though and get back with ya once I'm done.

Almost 4 months ago, I left the game for a break after finishing my template. While I was gone they did the BH upgrade to their missions having to be MBH , etc. The very day I came back, even though I did not use ANY powers in public that day whatsoever, I was attacked by a BH. Now supposedly the terms got a overhaul and Im sure they were puged during this process. What this tells me is that vis doesnt mean crap, you're a jedi, your name is in there. Everything else the devs say about vis, non-group players and using powers, blah blah, its all spin an spam, crap.

If the DEV's did intend the BH's to be "population control" then the BH's have failed miserably. LOL.

You can't argue with pure economics. More money = more devs/development time commitment = more content/fixes.

All a matter of perspective really. Jedi still dont have content or anything other than a glowing nerf bat and pajama's, so how are we winning?

LOL nice consipracy theory, I'm inclined to agree with you on some lvl, just want to say the jedi where not intended to be in the game and was supposed to be about the imperial stormtrooper and the rebel riflemen gunning in massive cities. George Lucas was actually the one who interviend and said "What? no jedi?! Lets change that!" So we actually owe him even more. You also can't say they just threw the profession in the game either because that would imply it was so abrupt in the few months they had to fix it. But by my count 2yrs later, they somehow managed to make the aspect of the profession work less then it did at release. bah, but anyway. Ya I would agree with you on the BH being dev pop control.

Did you just crawl out from under a rock or something? Of course BHs are Jedi population control! Any BH who denies this must be under the same rock.
Jedi was never meant to be easy, it was meant to be the HARDEST profession to achieve. What all these new Jebay don't understand is that Jedi are supposed to be played by those who like the challenge, and the reward is that they get to be a rarity and more powerful than Joe Noob FOTM.
I've realized that the hologrind wasn't originally meant to be a directed grind, the system was in place so that the Jedi would be players that are knowledgeable in all aspects of the game, hopefully creating Jedi who are a little more mature than the "pwning" and "whining" Jeteye we have so many of. The real Jedi don't whine, they know that their characters arent supposed to be easy to play. Of course the holocrons killed the idea in favor of getting Jedi now to calm the frustrated crowds. The system was in place, but there were so few of these Jedi calibre players that the Devs needed to kickstart the system.
The system was never created to allow Jedi to hit full temp in a month. BH help slow the progress a little bit, tho not as much as they would with ye olde fashioned permadeath, and maybe not as much as they should since Jedi still seem to spend their points in absurdly short periods of time. If you can't take the BH attacks, don't play the Jedi. You can always the FOTM template that so many are whining about instead. However, if the BH is harassing you outside of game mechanics, please report them, as that is unacceptable.

BH's can't keep the Jedi population down... they can only slightly delay Jedi from becoming full template.
If you can grind with good spin groups (and most Jedi can) then a BH is only a slight annoyance... he can make u waste a few hours or, in the case of XP loss, set you back between 1 and 3 hours. This is, of course, if you try to keep vis to a minimum while you are still not full template.
I also know Jedi who started using their Jedi toon for quests which involve killing NPCs well before they had reached full template; needless to say it has been a lot harder for them.
IMHO, all this really does is make Jedi go all out to become full template as fast as possible, knowing that it is the best way to stand up to the BH'rs, and if not kill them, then at least make it nearly impossible for them to kill you.
And with spin groups and enough free time, it's not hard to go from initiate to full template in 3 weeks (without AFK grinding or anything).
Once you are full template, if BH'rs get your mission, then that means that the low-level paddies have one less BH to worry about... and so that's a victory for the Jedi profession.
