Thread: [Jedi Upgrade]: Force Armor changes in Publish 19, in detail
Force Armor in Publish 19
This is an attempt to clear up the confusion regarding what the "Force Armor" changes in Publish 19 is about.
Important:
* All values in this guide takes pre-mitigated armor in consideration. For example, +28% mitigation is 20+28=48%.
*Will be upgraded with actual forcecosts later.
* Currently using 2500 as value for regular Force Armoruntil I know more.
*Armor with forcecost is not meant for tanking. If you want to tank; be a Defender.
* Unknown/Guessed values are marked in red.
Upgrade Notes
Test Center
Version 0.124821
* Force Armor - Now adds to your Jedi Innate Jedi Armor
* Force Armor - Takes a substantial less amount of Force per incoming damage
Innate Armor to %
Our armor right now:
* 20% mitigation from Jedi Initiate
* +32,5% mitigationas Master Defender
* Improved Force Armor gives +4000
* Currently using 2500 as value for regular Force Armor until I know more.
What "Innate Armor" means for us inshort:
* Capped at "100"=60%
* Force Armor is now vulnerable to Armor Break.
* Force Armor now gives +19% mitigation for No Defender (2000->4500, 20%->39%)
* Improved Force Armornow gives +28% mitigation for No Defender (2000->6000, 20%->48%*)
* Force Armor nowgives +16.5% mitigation for 0040 Defender (3000->5500, 28,5%->45%)
* Improved Force Armor nowgives +24% mitigation for 0040 Defender (3000->7000, 28,5%->52,5%)
* Force Armor nowgives +14,5% mitigation for 4000 Defender (4200->6500, 37%->51,5%)
* Improved Force Armor nowgives +19,5% mitigation for 4000 Defender (4200->8200, 37%->56,5%)
* Force Armor nowgives +12% mitigation for 4400 Defender (5400->7900, 44%->56%)
* Improved Force Armor nowgives +15,5% mitigation for 4400 Defender (5400->9400, 44%->59,5%)
* Force Armor nowgives +7% mitigation for Master Defender (7000->9500, 52,5%->59,5%)
* Improved Force Armor nowgives +7,5%* mitigation for Master Defender (7000->10000*, 52,5%->60%*)
* This is actually consistent with the value for good crafted regular armor.
* This is capped at 10000 = 60%
Armor Conversion:
Innate Armor is capped at 100.
1000 = 10.5%
2000 = 20.0%
3000 = 28.5%
4000 = 36.0%
5000 = 42.5%
6000 = 48.0%
7000 = 52.5%
8000 = 56.0%
9000 = 58.5%
10000 = 60%
Force Armor vs Armor Break
I currently do not know how Force Armor works against Armor Break. This will hopefully be tested
What I would like to know is if:
* For Master Defender, do Force Armor caps before or after Armor Break is taken in consideration (3500 vs 3850)?
* For Master Defender, is Force Armor applied before or after ArmorBreak (3500 vs 6450)?
* Do Forcecost change if you are armorbreaked? In that case how?
Force Cost Reduction
Forcecost for the new Force Armor is now 8%. This appears consistent even if you have more innate armor before you start Force Armor.
History of Jedi Armor
Force Armor pre CU
Order of Mitigation:
1. PvP Reduction (75%)
2. Lightsaber Toughness (55% for Master Lightsaber)
3. Jedi Toughness (45% for Master Defender)
4. Force Armor (45%)
5. Food mitigation (up to 45% for Synthsteak)
Total Enhancer (With MLS): 75%* (55% LS Toughness/45% Force Armor)
TotalDefender (With MLS): 75%* (55% LS Toughness/45% Jedi Toughness)
Total Defender+Enhancer (With MLS): 86%* (55% LS Toughness/45% Jedi Toughness/45% Force Armor)
Force Cost: A Master Lightsaber Jedi payed 6%* force in pve/1,5%* force in pvp.
* Theese are recalculated values taking previous mitigation in consideration.
Force Armor post CU
Order of Mitigation:
1. Force Armor (45%)
2. PvP Reduction (35%)
3. Defense mitigation (See bottom of page)
4. Innate Armor (+20=20%) + Food Mitigation
Total Enhancer: 56%* (+36%) (+20 innate armor/45% Force Armor)
Total Defender: 52,5%* (+32,5%)(+70 Innate Armor)
Total Defender+Enhancer: 74%* (+54%) (+70 innate armor)
Force Cost: A Jedi payed 13,5%* force in pve/13,5%* force in pvp.

Total Defender+Enhancer: 60%* (+32,5%/+7,5%=+40%) (+70 Innate Armor/+30* Force Armor)

Force Cost: 8% of damage mitigated by your entire innate armor.

Defense Mitigation
It was said a great difference between defense vs accuracy would mean a difference to damage.
Well, this difference was not as direct as people thought it would be.
A high difference vs accuracy/defense, or level difference, increase/reduce damage range.
Even a very high (700+) difference may giveonlya few points of difference. It all depends on the weapon used.
Damage Range?
Damage Range is the difference between minimum damage and max damage. For example, my Lightsaber do 482-578 damage. In a case when the defense vs accuracy is very close, I will do "578" damage. But the further defense above my accuracy, the further that value be moved towards 482. Defense can mitigate up to 16% from my Lightsaber.
A weapon with a long range, such as Advanced Laser Rifle, have greater potential to be mitigated. Take this one for example: 472-977
Defense alone can mitigate up to 48% against this weapon.

Should be +25, which is about +18% for a non master defender and +7% for a Master Defender.

Any idea how much FA1 will be adding, I was contemplating picking it up.

Here is the biggest question and as yet nobody has answered it for me. Do we have any proof that FA2 only adds +3000 for a master defender. In truth it should still be adding +4000, with the last 1000 being ignored right? Now if thats the case then when a master defender is broken, FA2 should push them back up to around the 6000 mark, shouldnt it?
If thats right, then i may have found a use for FA2
No. But the difference between 9500 to 10000 is like less than 1% difference.

Force Cost Reduction
Theese values are estimated simply by taking the change to "Innate Armor" in precaution using the old 30% forcecost value.
The real cost will probably be even lower.% force for damage taken:
Before Publish 19: 13,5% force in pve/13,5% force in pvp.
Publish 19: No more than 9% in pve/5,85% in pvp.The reduction is at least -33% in pve/-36% in pvp.
Will upgrade this part when I know how much the 30% value was reduced.

I love reading your posts and trying to figure out how little I know about this game.

And oh. FA2=4500, not 4000.
20+22+25=67. That's about 52% or very close to that.

What about someone with 4040 defender and fa1 what would that put them at?
Remember that the forcecost for FA1 used to be 50%, not 30% like FA2.
