Thread: REMOVE the LIGHTSABER & DEFENDER skill trees...
- Turn Lightsabers into 1H, 2H & Polearms, Certed for Jedi Initiate...
- Add unseen (by non-Jedi) Force Values (such as Force Bonuses and Innate Jedi Armor)to the Melee Arts Skill Boxes...
- Add unseen (by non-Jedi) Force Skills (such as Saberthrow & Aura) to the Melee Arts Skill Boxes...
- Add these unseen values to TK as well, to create an "Akolyte" type of Jedi...
- Increase the Pearl & Crystal Values since they are now "Rare"...
Jedi in the past used Swords, so there is no reason they shouldn't be able to now. At least we can compete with regular weapons & justify making the saber uber again, just harder to build.

SO basicly your saying that LS and Def should be one jedi profession? If you do I agree, I have told this would be right long ago.

Well, yes... and we should actually be able to compete weapon-wise, HAVE RECOVERIES,& have more than a few specials. This would cost us more SP's, but the trade off would be worth it overall for the Jedi profession.

The OP is probably going to get flamed...we've been down this road quite a bit...but I always thought it was completely moronic to divide the two...the nature of martial arts and fencing does not allow one to learn to be a master of attack without any defense, or vice versa.
For me, our profession would be much more interesting if they combined the trees and left us with only four. I think we would find a great deal more variety.
The Jedi trees were never very imaginative.
Healer...based on a cleric
Enhancer...sort of a druid
Powers...good ole magic user
LS and Defense? Staying combined made too much sense...divided purely for the sake of division...
If I could make one change to our profession...and one change only...I would do, for the most part, what the OP suggests and I know it would reduce the FOTMs quite a bit. I will even go so far as to say that I would prefer to see this over a new FRS...but, I probably did too much crack as a kid...just kidding...

What is depressing is that even the players can't break out of the damn elf game box.
They are as bad as the developers.
I said, before they made my Discipline FOTM, that it should be removed from the game and it's defense spread throughout the other trees. A master of the lightsaber should be a force to be reckoned with not gimped because he has no defender. A master of the force should be able to whip you into submission, without having to take defender. A master enhancer should be able to enhance and control the force, not forced to run because he has no defender. Soe promised us diversity with patch9, but there was no diversity.
After patch9 everyone was MLS & Healer 4/0/0/0, tonot have it in your template was suicide, after the CU Defender is the new MLS. If they truly care about diversity of templates the only choice is to remove Defender from the mix. If that is to drastic at the very leastspread some defenses throughthe other disciplines.
Enough ramblings from a retired Knight and Defender of the Empire.
