Thread: The amount of Jedi in this game isnt what ruins the feeling of SW for me...
its people like this. Now, let me say, I dont have anything against him personaly(which is why I didnt show a name), but its this kind of person that ruins anything SW about this game for me. Why? We'll start with looks. Since he is a rebel(see necklace) this is a light Jedi, yet he's using a LS crystal named after a Sith lord which has a red tone. He's wearing a bandolier w/ weapon ammunition on it. A belt w/ grenades on it. Two robotic arms. No shirt. "Shorts". Casual shoes. Sunglasses. A snow hat.
But the truth of the matter is that isnt really what the problem is. How a person acts is more important than how they look. It is typicaly the Jedi dressed like this that are always found in a crowded SP dueling other Jedi, and behaving in the kind of manner that gives the Jedi proffession a bad name and makes the general populace hate them. There is nothing SW(relating to the movies or books) about a character like that, at least not one that is a Jedi. They look and act about as far as is possible to be from the way Jedi were portrayed in the movies we all love(and the way mature adults act in society). Now, I'm not saying I think all Jedi should go around in their stock robes, as I dont w/ my Jedi. But at least I still a look and act like one. Having your own custom outfit or look is one thing, but its easy to see the difference between a person who has their own style, and a person who has multiple robotic limbs and is only dressed the way they are to be l33t, in their never-ending quest to pwn the galaxy.
Again, dress isnt the real thing here. Its the kind of Jedi that constantly duels in the MO w/ their robotic limbs and completely un-SW dress challenging noobs to duels and all around acting like a spoiled child that ruins the feeling of SW in this game, not the number of Jedi. I dont expect this to be incredibly well recieved here, as at least half of the Jedi in this game are just like the one I've discussed, but that doesnt really bother me. I've said my piece. To those that are not like this, and try to actualy be a Jedi like myself, I salute you. We are a rare breed.

I feel what you're saying here. And yet in the end, he is expressing his individuality which brings back the element of spontaneity to this game.
I think he should be rewarded for thinking outside of the box.
Its not "expressing individuality" that bothers me. Its wearing/getting/doing whatever it takes just to be "l33t" so you can "pwn" people. When I see a Jedi that looks like that(and is constantly dueling) its obvious that that is all their doing, not being "unique". And lets not get lost from the point I was making. I'm not saying someone who dresses like that is a bad person, all I'm saying is that isnt SW.

Eh, it's not "star warsy", but really... this is a game. It is not just a place where we can be what we want to be. Hell, many people think GL is wrong, and that is perfectly legit.. to each their own.
You make the game what you make it. Don't let stuff like this affect it. In the end, the only one hurt by you getting mad about is you.
not to mention jedi without access to uber perls is weak.
but hey, we all gotta b1tch about something
