Thread: SOE needs to give more respec (or at least should have)

When they gave us 3 weeks of respecing, that was wrong, they did not do ANY changes in that period of time, all the changes begun after the respec period was over and some of us are stuck on templates. I used my token because they broke my template I picked when CU hit live servers, now due to many fixes/nerfs/enhancements the template I have is not that good as I want it to be. I do not want to be like a slave, I pay for the game just as much as you do all, and we all desrve the right to change our templates if Developers change the game, simple as that.

If SOE just gave us 1 respec per publish, there would be LESS jedi who got their templates finished using it ( i dont have anything against it) , instead the waited until the respec is over and all the "exciting" changes begun.

If you want to flame or raise your post count, please go and do it somewhere else, just post what you think about it.

Wow. There shouldn't have been any respecs after the first trial period.

Rather than a respec, I would like to see something like JTL where you earn double to triple XP if you retemplate. It would easily solve the problem and they already have a precedent for it. They could do it like they did the FRS system ( after 230 points in jedi skills you unlocked the trials ).

It would take some forthought to make sure that no one abused the system, but it could be done.

SOE likes money, wouldn't be suprised if they brought back the respec option for a fee.

nooo more respecs!!!!!!!!!!!!

J/K

youre right 1 respec per publish till all the bugfixes were made ( or atleast 1% of them) would have been better than 3 weeks and 1 token

I think the repsec option was fun, just that it was coded crappy.

they could have made a skill swap where higher boxes can be used for lower boxes but lower boxes could not be used to get higher boxes. They didn't want to make the effort though.

That is what screwed over double masters in the first place. It cause quite a few people to quit when they could not respec back to double master after dabbling.

How about this. Once you mastered a box, you can regrind it at a portion of the XP once you dropped.

Example, you grinded.. i don't know, LightSaber 4004. That requires 6 million XP. Then, you want to try 0404 instead. So you grind the x4xx column at it's full cost of 3 million. If you don't like it, you can surrender it and retrain to 4004 but get that 4xxx column at halfthe XP cost. So you only have to grind back 1.5 mil to get those skills you had before. That would only work for stuff you already trained. you couldn't use that to go get somethign else.

Basically, easy to code. Once you trained the box, the XP required for the box is reduced by 50% only once. That way, if you get that 1.6 mil box once, it becomes a 800k box if you need to grind it again.

OR... allow a respec per publish, but tier-for-tier exchange, and only to skills you already had. Meaning you can only surrender a tier-4 to get another tier-4. None of that exchanging 4 tier-1's for a tier-4, that's just stupid. You had LS4004 once, you changed to LS0404 but don't like it, you can respec to LS4000 since you already earned those boxes the hard way.

another solution for now would be , that when you drop a box you get half of the xp back .

I agree, however at some point one needs to stop and say "Ok soe, after all this time, I think I am done grinding at 1/5 the experience". At one point you will have paid your experience dues. Especially since it is the changes in the game that make people re-grind templates.

the more they keep you changing templates, the less they have to come up with new stuff.
