Thread: SOE needs to give more respec (or at least should have)

I agree completely...flame on all you want. The patches have systematically negated most of the reasons I chose my current template. I used my respec token too soon and now I'm spending a week re-grinding to change my template once more. Its silly. At leastthe grindisn't nearly as bad as it once was...the group grind is moderately quick compared to before.
The respec never had to become the free-advancement-fest it became. Players should have had to return to their original template anytime they wanted to respec in that period. That way,they couldn't 'earn' free points through the novice box exploits.
A little off-topic: I've been playing since this game came out, and I'm a little bored. For my money (literally and figuratively) I wish I could respec periodically rather than have to grind for days on end, regardless of the publishes. Yeah, yeah...I'm lazy. But, I would stick around a lot longer if, instead of those silly holograms, I had a free respec token every several months.
If that bothers you, then how about this. The original design of Matrix Online was set-up so you could 'store' any skills you already learned for later use...a conditional respec. If you wanted to master every skill, you could...but you were limited to how many skills you could maintain in your character at a given time.
In SWG terms, that would mean we could save any skills we dumped and respec to them periodically. I would gladly grind out every tree in Jedi skills then respec every few weeks for variety. I would be respeccing to skills I rightfully earned.
I can't wait to see the flames that rise from this post...or the chirps of apathetic crickets...

you do realize this is a game right? It doesn't matter in the outside world if your a pre cu jedi or a respec jedi. out there no one gives a fu**
some of you take this game way to seriously and seem to treat it like real life.
Grinding a jedi pre cu somehow has the same valueas getting a college degree for some people, or getting a job, or ect.

We have had 2 final respecs already, people with a brain still have their tokens.

I kinda agree.
Everytime I'm finally done grinding and have a template which I like they nerf the skills I have or do something bad which makes me quite angry cause I need to change my template. After a few days I makea new template based on the current system and skills what I like and need.
Just to give an example. I had MDef. They nerfed avoid incap and all that melee defense we got doesn't add jack.
Then I got ME so I had fr3 to escape from danger and took cloak along with it. I had to drop MLS which wasn't required anyway. I just too melee accuracy food from time to time and I was sure to always have a doc near me.
Then they nerfed speed and on top of that they made force speed and adrenal boost unstackable.
NowI have to change my template again.
Every change means I gotta grind somewhere between 2 Mill to 10 Mill.
Right now I dropped force KD to get double bladed LS back cause that saberis faster and better than my 2 handed.
I bet ME is gonna get nerfed in the future or MLS is gonna get better or cloak is moved to MPowers or the cost is increased. Talking about increased, the cost to activate force run 3 is insanely high and doesn't at all allow to run, do dmg, then run towards the next enemy, do dmg and so on.

I say after they make all the fixes, changes, nerfing I mean balancing... then maybe give one last respec but it would have to be the first time you log in and not a token so it cant be exploitable.

they should just add the feature that is basically the best part of matrix online's system.
once youve mastered something, and grind out something else, you can always "plug in" the skill you dropped and get it back..basically you only have to grind out a skill one time, then you can always swap back to it.
then you could try differnt templates, and if you dont like it just swap back to your old

I think this would be a better solution if you were only allowed to do it every 30 days or so. Seems logical that once you learn a skill you shouldn't have to learn it again. Unless maybe it's a refresher course.

Just pick a template you have fun with, then you wont have any problems.

I wish they never did the respec crap so you did have to rough it out and could not respec lower boxes into better ones... I really do. At least now we can stop it ahead of time.
First of all, I am a pre-cu jedi, and finished template pre-cu, without the respec. Another thing is that if I wanted to change my template because I didnt like it, but I have to change my template because of some fixes SOE made.

That is exactly situation I am in. Speed nerf did it.
