Thread: saber question

OK, building my first saber i used good resources. The second gen i had a crappy crytal and a good one. i used the crappy one cause this char is basicly to learn with. Now, if i take that soso gen 2 saber and use a good crystal in it for gen 3 would it be worth it or would i be better off starting new?

The properties of the former saber carry over. So if you have low damage, slow speed, low wound chance and high force cost, it will be added into the next saber. Better off starting a new one, and save this saber for killing lairs with no special attacks. just grind it up on lairs.

I have a 5th gen saber now 6.4 750-1250 with all crystals. im dont have nearly enough money for perals so im gonna be using all crystal sabers for a while, is there a certain order when crafting my next saber what crystals go in what generation, for example whould i put my best crystal in gen 2 and put my worst in 5, or put worst in 2 and best in 5. plz help, thanks

Save all the good ones for 1 saber that is what I would do.

Are we ever gonna be able to craft or harvest crystals for our sabers? Anyone know? I ask b/c my saber is decaying fast and eventually, even after reapiring it several times, it will be gone. Now, after I go through all of my crystals and pearl (s), what then? I cant hunt Krayts without a big group and they are hunted constantly nowadays. Crystals just dont seem to drop much anymore (and when they do, I seem to get twins not singles lol).

The point is, unless I dedicate all my main's time to trying to acquires these, then I will run out of them and not be able to make sabers. I wont be able to play the rest of the game with my main b/c all he'll be doing is searching for crystals and pearls.

Ive heard others talk about this, but does anyone know if there is anything in the works to help us assure ourselves that we can get these items without 24/7 meatlump killing or constant krayt hunting?

I'm not trying to sit here and complain, its just othering me that Im using these things up. Buying these from other players is not like going out and buying a new laser rifle or pair of VKs. Buying these things ingame is way too expensive.

Anyway, I was just curious.

Has anyone seen the REAL SWG lately? I miss the game I bought! *sigh*

LOL almost forgot. With all th eunlocks occuring nowadys and the sure to be tons more soon and after the quests, you may not even be able to buy crystals or pearls anymore lol. As it is, go to corellia and anywhere there are NPC spawns, there are AFK hunters. Whats this gonna be like when more and more people unlock and HAVE to have these crystals and pearls.


Anyway, like I said, Im hoping they give us some ability to provide at least decent crystals for ourselves in a guaranteed way (crafting or surveying and mining).

I'm not a jedi, but I completely agree with you. While I am mastering profs I always stop and kill npc's I see. I have looted 1 single and 3 double crystals. Obviously I need a lot more and I don't want to pay upwards of 400k in Coronet for single crystals. I can't seem to find them anymore and that in itself is disheartening. I think that there should be a way to survey/mine for the crystals, but only be of average or below average quality. Mainly these would be used in your training or grinding sabers. It seems so screwed up now that I can't believe SOE wanted it this way. I very much feel that they will change the drop rate for crystals as they are changing the drop rate for Tusken helmets and robes(4-27-04 Pub 8). So I believe that this will be changed somewhat. If in the least the drop rate or at the best the survey part. I'm hoping for both, but evreyone knows SOE's track record isn't spectacular.
