They leave because they have gotten bored of the game :\

Everyone always complains about the good old days :S There wern't any good old days? Just you were new to the game and everything seemed soo amazing!

Havn't you ever noticed that every mmorpg has some people on it saying it got ruined and they mis the good old days!

The problem is people get confused with the good old days with the days when they first started!

Yes some have left because the game has gotten old for them. This is not true for all though. I know many vets (some in real life) who have left over the changes.

As for the ones leaving over getting bored whose falt is that? It is not the players falt that is for sure.

No plan to leave yet, guese I am stuborn. I must admit that the only reason I still play this game is the friends I have made (which are dropping like flies) and the love of starwars. The game does get boring at times when most of your friends have left and it can be hard to find a good group. I do however feel what drives most people to leave SWG is the constant and not stop changes... there has never been consistancy to any part of this game... you may be correct there were never no "good old days", thing were broke back then and most vets that I know including myself are just tierd of the sensless changes to gameplay. But I feel that you are wrong also just to assume that must leave because of boardom.

Yeah, you got a point there. Though i know a many veterans who would have not left if the game did not suck. I'm still here, but not having fun as I used to and the reason is not that I got bored of the game, but I got bored of the stupidity of the developement.

Actually I have left because it got worse, i still love going to dwb, just random grinding helping out friends, using my crafter and harvesers to make whatever foods i want, fishing, the warren, i havent even gotten to doing a lot of the kash quests yet, havent done much in space. theres endless things that i would love to do in this game if they didnt keep butchering it saying i left because i was bored is just wrong, im sure your point is right for some of the vets but definitly not all of them.

Well although I appreciate your enthusiasm the game has gotten worse and the dozens of in game vets and rl friends who have left have done so because the game has definitely gotten worse. It has been dumbed down, made relatively risk free (except for Jedi),and has lost most if not all interdependencies. I have canceled my accounts and have after 2 plus years no intention of coming back. If you were around when groups were huge, hunting parties were really needed, camps were a necessity and walking/running was the only mode of travel you would have a better understanding of the scope of the changes. I remember planets with no player cities, merchants that actually took pride in their products and the challege of finding and harvesting quality resources. The game has changed and although some real vets left due to boredom most that I know have left due to the poor and declining quality of the game.

Publish 24 has caused a mass departure from SWG in our guild. People are fed up. We have about 90% of our guild creating and playing toons in another game after this publish, and we've never had that before, ever. In our voice channel, participation dropped dramatically, and we have about 10 peeps in the other game's channel, and 3 in SWG. The other game's channel didn't even exist pre-Publish 24.

Here's an excerpt of what I posted in our guild forums - but I know they're fed up with SOE's mismanagement of SWG:

Fact: There's a tremendous amount of potential in a Star Wars MMORPG.

Fact: SOE is incapable of leading a project.

Subjective Result: An inevitable crash and bottoming out, leading to the project being given to another company to manage, and new opportunity for the Star Wars MMORPG. Unfortunately, many many players will have died of high blood pressure by that time.

____________________________
Fact: While SOE mismanages the game, the game and our roles will be uncertain, and moreover, are likely to be reinvented, and reinvented, and reinvented again. And then one more time.

Subjective Result: Don't get wrapped up in any instance of the game as we know it. Be flexible, don't throw your credits into things that may be useless tomorrow. Hold on to credits, credits don't change with revamps, use them cautiously.

____________________________
Subjective Fact: Jedi are here to stay, but the very nature of Jedi will continue to change.

Subjective Result: Enjoy the Jedi toon for the game as we know it. Don't worry about being uber uber, because what's uber today, proly won't be uber tomorrow. Save the credits. Save the grinding. Instead, focus on having fun with guildmates, making things that are hard to get (jetpacks,) getting badges (they last, too,) and doing things in groups for fun.
