Bacta Jab + Bacta Shot vs Total Heal


This is an attempt to enlighten people of the reason people say that a "Master Healer" is useless, despite their ability to heal for 3000 health in a shot. It also attempts to show why mindcost on heals is very unbalanced without reducing the forcecost.


If a full Total Heal would cost 117 force it would recover as fast as a Bactajab+Bactashot combo (providing the doctor do not use mind augmentation or food).


% Values given are for a Human.


Bactajab+Bactashot
6 Seconds cooldown
Heal for 3000 damage with good enhancers
6% action
15% mind


15% mind is recovered in 18,6 seconds (no food used)
15% mind is recovered in 16,74 seconds (with mind enhancer)
15% mind is recovered in 10,6 seconds (mind enhancer + good food)
15% mind is recovered in 4,65 seconds (no food used, sitting)
6% action is recovered in 1,8 seconds (no food used)


Total Heal
14% mind
625 force


14% mind is recovered in 16,8 seconds (no food used)
14% mind is recovered in 11,76 seconds (good food)
14% mind is recovered in 4,2 seconds (no food used, sitting)
625 force is recovered in 1:39 minutes (63 regen)






It takes 67 seconds of repeated use of Total Heal to drain your force*.
434 force left.


* This result is using 2500 damage healed per shot as a reference, not 3000.


It takes 67 seconds of repeated use of Total Heal to drain your mind.
7,4% mind left.

It takes 61 seconds of repeated use of Bacta Jab + Bacta Shot to drain your mind.
5,6% mind left.


It is not possible to drain your action with Bacta Jab + Bacta Shot.






It takes 17:24 minutes to recover 6516 force.
Food doesnt effect this.


It takes 1:53 minutes to recover 94,4% mind.
It takes 28 seconds to recover 94,5% mind when sitting.
Food + Mind Augmentationcan boost this with up to 43%

For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

as much noise as the jedi make, healing is not going to change for jedi. And no complaints from me, its more fun to kill them faster anyways

I am a jedi. i dont know what you mean.


I play 2 full templated jedi's.


I have 2 bh's also, and hate to say it, one of them was not respected. Since most duel mastery jedi are master sabers, enhancer, 4-0-4-0 these days after p-19. It helps with a good kd+ startleshot combo.


And i have one hardcore non bh ranged pvper. Complete with master rifles, master commando, and a little evil CM, with a yes, 1200 flame thrower/1100 rifle to make him just about undefeatable 1-1 chainlinking startleshot with paralyze.


i really dont see how this would effect me at all.

Among the dozens of non-healing temps I'm considering includes this: MP/ME/0440 Defender. Lots of good ranged defense, plenty of armor with FA2, plenty of force with Master Enhancer.


Healing sucks anyway, you're force and mind is drained so bad when you're ganked that it doesn't save you, so why bother? Just sneak around, cloak in for first strike, try to kill as quickly as you can, then run away when the going gets too tough.


In group PvP, you won't have to run as much - stims with ruby biel should do the job.


And Jesse, I have a MBH alt as well - it's easier to kill Jedi since Pub 19, bro, but you know that already.


What I meant is simply this - smart Jedi are gonna run when they deduce a good BH is coming for them. They'd die if they didn't run now, post Pub 19.


If they take Jedi out of the GCW, too, then about the only time you'll be fighting a Jedi is inguildwar PvP - and in that situation, the Jedi will have his guild or teammates to help him.


Hey, NP, I can adapt to this stupid new publish - I've been adapting for two years. It's just amazing that after two years, SOE still cannot get SWG right.


A good MBH is more powerful now than a good Jedi. It should be the other way around.

Nice findings as usual MsNiL.. but I'm afraid I'll have to remind you that you were one of a few who made a post a few weeks back that noted that Defender wasn't all that great without Healer, and that Healer was the culprit of the "overpowered" Defenders..


Healer got nerfed as a result of that and several other posts =/

I think that's what the dumb devs did here, too, but it wasn't MsNil's fault, bro. He knows what's going on, the devs don't.
