I still think Jedi would be better served if there were a real reason to hide. Saber tef, skill loss for deaths, major costs for factional PvP deaths. I'll support pretty much anything that keeps Jedi hidden instead of hanging out in cities.

I would like to see a System in which Jedi is only possible among certain characters (obviously random) for example, A character is created and is unlocked to jedi, but they obviously must find out how to become one (be it the village or whatever else). Another char is created, and He has no chance whatsoever of becoming a Jedi, simply because he can't tap into the force.

I wouldnt mind the saber tef at all.

Most of you would probably say "no." The countless hours spent grinding and so forth, I know it would be a lot to ask. Yes, I do have a jedi and have also spent hours/days grinding him.

However, I can't help but think the game would be much much better without jedi at all. Imo it was a big mistake to implement the jedi system in the first place. Around December of 03 when people realized they had to master 5 professions (or 29), the game hasn't been the same. Instead of giving holo's for Christmas the devsshould have capped the jedis and taken the system out.

The simple fact is: according to EP3 and the movies we love, there are5 (6 if you count Leia's potential) jedi left with the possibility of some stragglers. I am just sick of jedi running rampant. Can you go to a starport without hearing the hum of a lightsaber? I don't care if they are overpowered, underpowered or whatever. They, we shouldn't be there.

However, there isn't much more you can do to fix this at this point. Every time the devs have tried to fix the system it has gotten worse for one side or the other. So I ask this community, would you be willing to give up your jedi? Of course we would need to get something in return, possibly a character with 50% more skill points, or a year of free subscription to the game, I don't know. You just have to weigh the positives and negatives .

With the implementation of the CU, JTL and ROTW, there is lots of new content that goes unused. The GCW has so much potential and should be the focus of the game, not jedi grinding. The powergamers would spend time trying to outfox the enemy in the GCW and working in teams instead of grinding.

I know your answer is "no", but this is just my 2 creds. My answer, I would have to think about, but I think in the end it would be "yes," for the good of the game.

Not a chance.

I have been working for jedi for over a long time, and they would have to pay me back for the moneyI spent on this gameto have me even think of giving up jedi.

Getting rid of Jedi wouldn't improve the game, so no. All the crybabies who are focused on Jedi would just move their attention to the next thing to cry about.

Did they tahke TKA or Fencers out of the game - NO - they tried to balance professions for the GCW - the problem is Jedi should be more powerful then any elite profession. Take Jedi out of GCW and make it Light vs Dark

If they actually changed how Jedi was obtained and made it extremely difficult and an unknown system (would love to see one different for each character upon creation so no one knows). Back in 2003 Jedi were the main reason why I even bought this game. No Jedi = me and 50% of the player base leave.

I understand your premise, but I can't agree because I don't feel that the current Jedi situation is hurting the "good of the game".

SWG is based on the movies and such...it is not and will never be pure canon. It's an MMORPG that uses a license to a well-known and well-loved story. That's all.

The desire to play a Jedi is a strong pull for potential customers, it won't be removed.

While I might consider giving up a Jedi if given a chance to respec my character to whatever I wish, regardless of SP invested...I might. But not for "the good of the game", it would be for me, should I decide that the profession is no longer fun to play.

What? We didn't give up Jedi already?

Damn, I though they just replaced my Jedi with a gimpy Bothan.

- I support a rollback and keeping & balancing the old combat system.
...and making SWG a better place to be.

Hmmm,,, What a bizarre suggestion. Star Wars without Jedi. Kind of like Disney World without Mickey Mouse or The Wizard of Oz without Dorothy. There has never been a Star Wars movie without Jedi. There have been many Star Wars movies without doctors, entertainers, riflemen, bounty hunters, carbiners, smugglers, and the various other profs that make up the SWG character landscape. Never heard of anyone suggesting that these profs be nerfed.

Beyond being bizarre, and something thatwould be as marketable and palatable as a prime rib made out of Tofu, it would be tasteless and boring. Jedi are an inextricable part of Star Wars. Removing them, beyond alienating and inflamming the veteran player base that have been with this game from the start, isn't just destroying a prof, it's destroying Star Wars.

On top of which, there exist a number of ways to address the inequities of the current game system without nerfing a profession or attacking the investments that players have made in those professions. Suggestions like this are part of the problem, not a solution, and only serve to shamefully and unnecessarily inflame player sentiments.

I tell you what coming from one of the Biggest Jedi supporters in the game ever , I would have to think twice knowing what it would do.

Sure it would be a mess, but you just have to wonder... at least ponder it.

I would if I was 100% sure they would make a new dynamic system that made the path to Jedi different for every player, this way the solution wouldn't be on the forum for everyoone to see and follow.... And ofcourseSoE alsohad to make Jedi as good as they should be since there would be alot fewer Jedi...
