Thread: Jedi vs BH Cybernetic Fun!

How often to Jedi get killed? I'm a new BH so Im asking out of me not knowing much. I've worked hard getting armor, decent weapons, etc - have tried fighting a bunch of jedi, and always get whipped, as they are just too much for me to handle. I dont think they should lose as much XP by getting killed, and I do agree they should get some kind of reward for winning as well, but from my limited experience, I find it nearly impossible to take one down. (Im going to start to grind to hopefully become one...always wanted to).

It seems to me that jedi are way more powerful than BH's....and if a BH takes down a good jedi, the reward should be fitting, and likewise for the winning jedi.

But then again...the way i See it, there is a balance...a Jedi has worked his tail off to attain that rank. Jedi's Strength/Ability vs a Bounty Hunters reward? Seems like a decent balance to me. Youve got what seems to be theultimate power, while a BH doesnt.

I dunno, just my thoughts. I think jedi are awesome, and enjoy the thrill of even trying to fight one even when i lose, and enjoy watching them. Excellence....

I challenge anyone to name a Star Wars movie or book where a lightsaber was drawn in anger, and a body part, or a limb, or a droid component did not go flying off onto the floor. And Obi Wan's death does not count

That being said.... I think that since SWG has decided to implament cybernetic body parts into the game, then maybe us Jedi could have a bit of fun with it. I am in no way suggesting that the DEV's try to make the game graphic in nature so that body parts go flying, however I do have a suggestion, let me break it down.

:: Current Gameplay Facts ::

- When a BH kills a Jedi, the Jedi loses massive amounts of xp

- When a BH kills a Jedi, the BH makes tons of money

- When a BHtakes a Jedi mission,the BHcan bring friends to help

- When a Jedi gets attacked, NO ONE can help them at all

- When a Jedi actually kills a BH, they get nothing (except being on the BH-Terms some more)

Seems to me that Jedi lose no matter how you look at it, in a BH encounter. If the BH wins, he gets paid and the Jedi gets the shaft. If the Jedi wins, he gets... well... you guessed it....more BH's coming for him...

Bottom line is this. Jedi stand to lose everything in these encounters, and BH's stand to lose absolutely nothing but a trip to the nearest cloner.

:: My Cybernetic Suggestion ::

- The game already has cybernetics set up, and coded into the game, to pop onto your body randomly at different cloners if you did not clone before you died. You might have seen some of your friends walking about Dathomire with silver legs a few times

- I say this... If a BH is defeated in combat by a Jedi, then to simulate the body parts that would normally most certainly hit the floor, make them clone automatically with a Cybernetic Body part at random. but not just any old generic Cybernetic... one with negative stats too it... ex... -15 terrain neg, or -10 melee def, etc etc

- These cybernetics can still be removed by a Cyber-Doc in the Hospital anytime they wish, BUT... it would cost the BH whatever his Jedi mission was worth that he failed. So if a BH took a 225k mission on a Jedi and dies, then it will cost him 225k to remove his horrible new body part

I just think it's high time that BH's actually had some risk in going up against an opponent such as the Jedi. You have all heard BH's say.... " Oh I only do it for the money".... "Nuthing personal".... ok fine, lets hit them where it counts, in thier pocket book

I LOVE THIS IDEA....now i think making the cost to remove the limb, that high is a little un-resonable but maybe like 50k or 30k or something...more then a standard part as perhaps the cartarized wound would be much harder to re-connect severed nerv's to allow a replacment to function properly. Thus explaining the increased cost without making it extremly high. This would lessen the in-balance between cost vs. risk and would add a interesting twist.

********** 10 stars for you my friend!

ok, ok... so perhaps that figure is a bit steep. But I do sincearly think that BH's need some element of risk involved in this style of combat. Further more, I think that BH's should welcome the challenge, being that they have what i consider to be the highest honor in the game, which is to hunt down another player (not some mindless NPC), and attack them at will for money.

Luke lost his hand in a differnt movie. I belive empire strikes back. Altough Vader did lose his hand, but that was out of self defense, not anger. the only anger that hit Luke was that he was watching his friends die, and he decided by killing him, it would end.

I like the idea from the original post and this quote below.

Rebiv wrote:

Why not have some sort of BH Reputation, where if you succeed in your missions you raise your reputation with the mission "suppliers" If you get say 5 missions in a row where you succeed, you can get higher level missions for a better reward. Im sure someone can make a plan or system with some sort of BH Reputation involvement. Maybe someone can make a post about it if they have the time and imagination?

The BH Rep wouldnt have that great of an impact for reducing Jediattacks, but sure would be some neat content for the game. Maybe a BH Rep below a certain level gained by failing missions would put a bounty on the BH?

*EDIT* Fixed a spelling error. :}

Wrong. BH lose a lot of time and hassle that adds up to most of the time you jedi hiding in cantinas, or like I just experience on Kash tonight, you Jedi exploiting line of sight by standing just after where the bridge stops. You run and hide and now cheat. All for what? Because of XP. XP loss is what needs to change.

What needs to be done is remove the xp loss from Jedi deaths. That would promote more pvp and less of your bullcrapcantina hidingand line of sight cheating.

Adding other crap that we BH have to go through will only get less BH after you. Maybe this is what you want, though, less after you - so you can carebear it up in peace. Is it peace you want, or is the fundamental problem the loss of XP?

Regarding the rest of your post - great colors you have, and honestly it's a 'good' idea IF there wasn't another option. XP loss is the real problem.

Mau.

No one forces you to hunt jedi. It's a choice you make. It takes time to do just about anything. That is not a "risk."
