Thread: Qualifying for Knight (not a FRS question)

Guys and Girls of the Jedi forum.

I'm currently grinding my template, originally aiming for Mdef/Mls/Heal 4040. I'm thinking of changing this a bit to MLS/Def 4044/Heal 4000 and some enhancer.

My query is, I thought in the old system, to qualify for the Knight trials you had to spend 226 skill points on your template. If that is the case how would you qualify for the trials without a double mastery as you will always have that 1SP spare that you cannot spend?

no you've been misinformed,in the old system you needed 85% of your skill points invested in jedi skills to get the invite to sit the knight trials

Yeah I thought those were the ones who were pre-village, they have a spare 24 SP to spend on whatever they wanted don't they?

Well i played on ToOW beta and had the opportunity to test my jedi tempalte there. I did notice that message for knight trials did not appear until i spent 226 pts and 0 remaining skill points. I could be wrong, but no way to test it now that jedi options are turned off. Personally I think it should be this way. IF you cannot commit 100% to jedi and spend all your points, then you do not move on past padawan.

I'm committed, its just the template I'm thinking of doesn't involve a double mastery so i'll have 1SP left over, as its only the master boxes that take 1sp there's no way i can spend it unless I don't get the first master box.

Why must this game continute to cater to the dabblers? Some things should be set aside for masters only. IF you cannot commit to a "Real" full tempalte, then you are a padawan in my eyes. Advancing into knight trials should require sacrifices and one of them being losing the edge you dabblers have over those of those that choose to pursue a "pure" template.

umm maybe because the game is so gimped now that dabbling is the only way to survive, why go double mastery?..theres no point in it,look at what the master boxes give

MLS) dervish (looks nice but doesnt do anything worthwhile,no states, and the damage sucks

master powers) choke does crap damage, breach only sticks half the time and uses too much force, and you get no defences, you're a glass cannon

master healer) total heal self that doesnt heal mind or action..total heal?..gimme a break

master defender) avoid incap that has a snare on it and costs a crapload of force to activate, also come the next patch its gonna make creatures drop agro from you taking away the ability to be a tank

master enhancer) you get FR3,only slighty faster than FR2 so not much point in getting itespecially sincecome the next patch a snare is gonna slow you down to slower than walking speed no matter which type of FR you haveso whatspoint,stasis?..misses most of the time and when it does stick the other half someone from your group always hits the target and screws it up,regain consciousness?..you lose 50k xpf or using an ability that does exactly the same thing a hero ring does

think about it man, theres absolutely NO point in double mastery, you can think you're a real jedi with all your force points being used up,while all the other fake padawans procceed to own you over and over because they had enough sense to use their skill points wisely

Nope, we had to pick 24 sp worth of force sensitive skills during the conversion process.
